This solar panel charger can’t store electricity, it must be placed in full sun outside, and then connected to your electronics simultaneously to start charging.
The maximum output of each port is 5V/2.4A, the product output power will decrease when the solar radiation intensity becomes low.
The Best Portable Solar Charger Reviewed by Wirecutter
” The BigBlue 28W USB Solar Charger produces the most power of any portable solar charger we’ve tested, and it has unique features that make it more versatile and durable, including three output ports (versus two on most other chargers), and an expansive but lightweight array of panels to catch every last ray of sunlight. Smaller and lighter than other options with similar output, so it can more easily fit into a camping backpack, hiking daypack, or emergency kit.” — By Wirecutter Editor

This solar charger can charge my cellphones at night?
No, this portable solar charger can’t store the electricity, you need to connect your device to the solar panel in enough sunlight outdoors.
Why the real output is different from the power claimed?
This product has 4 piece panel, each is 7w, so the power is 4*7w=28W; Theoretical output is 5V/2.4A Max for each port, 5V/4.8A Max in total, the total theoretical power is 5V*4.8A=24W Max. But there are loss in the solar energy conversion process.
What’s the auto-restart function?
Any cloud or covering arrives may knock the value of output down, but this folding solar panel charger can automatically recover to normal charging speed when there are enough sunlight.
This solar charger can charge Androids and Apple cellphones?
Yes, but our solar phone charger doesn’t include the lightning cable for iPhone or iPad.

Solid gear
Bought this for a 9 day hike up Kilimanjaro. Charged phones and batteries without issue. When the sun was right, I would even clip it on the outside of my pack and charge while hiking. Donated it to my guide at the end of the trip. The total wattage output was a good size as it had enough output to be useful compared to smaller units.

Works Great!
Use this on a remote canoeing trip, was able to keep three iPhones, Speaker, battery pack powered without any difficulty for one whole week, very compact and durable. One concern is the interface is only USB A, thus You will need adapter for USB to USB-C for certain items like an Apple Watch.

It is decent.
I used this to recharge my phone. It works well if in direct sunlight. But takes longer than electricity to recharge a phone. If it is in a shaded location then the recharge is less effective.

Excelent and reliable
Very good to have when lights go off! Ultra light, portable and the price is also very good. Very good to have it, at home, as EDC or in the great outdoor.

Kept my electronics charged for weeks
I bought this for my hike along the Colorado Trail. I only went into town once in 3+ weeks. This kept my external battery charged the entire trip. Then I charged my phone and watch from my battery. It rained everyday day except for three. Generally I would attach this to the back of my backpack. During the day, it would get enough Sun to get a decent charge. It was never a 100% full charge. But enough to keep my battery well over the 50% mark. I’d say most the time my battery would drain to around 20% and recharge to around 85%. I had the best charging experience when at rest. I’d just lay this out if the ground, facing the Sun, and it seemed to charge pretty fast. The worst thing about these solar panels is the compartment where you connect the battery or your peripherals. It’s held closed by only a small piece of Velcro. It basically doesn’t work. Anything you put in that pocket to charge will fall out.For me it wasn’t a big deal. After having my battery fall out routinely and daily, it just fell out of the pocket from the solar panel, and into my large external center pocket on my backpack. From that point forward, I would never use the pocket this solar panel comes with. I would just put my battery in my packs external pocket, and run a cable to the solar panel to charge it. Problem solved. But definitely something to be aware of.

Remote charging option
Works great for charging a phone if there is direct sun. Phone does not charge if only partial coverage of panels. I have two of these and am pleased with performance.

Works well!
This solar charger works surprisingly well. Purchased for a week at Scout Camp. For whatever reason seems to work well when the panels do not get super hot like direct sun. Does not make a lot of sense but thatâs my experience so far. Easily charged a battery pack and Apple Watch at the same time and about the same rate as wall charger. Overall a pretty good product and no complaints so far (see below).Quick update and lowering two stars. Yes something is up when the panels get too hot (I think). Had my phone plugged in for nearly an hour while the panels were in unobstructed noon sun. I did not get 1% of charge. Completely different experience this morning when the sun was not too hot. Weird for sure.

A fantastic product.
I used this to recharge my Garmin 830, Garmin inReach, iPhone, front and rear lights, and two 25,000 mAh battery during a 5 day bikepacking trip through the Sawtooth Mountains. I beat it hard on washboard gravel roads, bent it over a sleeping bag with straps to secure it, and was generally very unkind to it. At the end of each day I would fan it open and let it recharge all my toys. Granted, I had full sun for about three hours at the end of each day, but it did not disappoint. Even on days where there was considerable smoke in the air, it still charged better than I could have ever hoped for.Although it does take up some space and it isn’t an insignificant weight, I will not bikepack or backpack without it from now on. A fantastic product.

I received the panel on Sunday. found not charging any devices which I have ex. phone, pad, LED flashlight, and energy bank on sunny day. I gave up this device and returned it on Wednesday.

Materiales, calidad, presentación, portabilidad.Lo recomiendo mucho, tal vez por precio existan mas económicos pero este es de muy buena calidad, las celdas son muy resistentes.

I recently went on a two week remote fly-in kayaking trip and needed to get a solar charger for various devices. Of course, it’s always a trade off between function, cost and weight. This showed up on gearlabs webpage as the “best choice” and after reading reviews for awhile I gave it a go. Unfortunately, as you can see, there was significant smoke cover for most of our trip, as such it became clear it charges small devices very quickly in the light (iphone, watch, petzyl headlamp battery, most importantly garmin inreach), fairly quickly in the shade. But it had a hard time charging my bose waterproof speaker and the battery packs I brought with. But given the smoke, they would probably have taken a fair bit less time in full light (8-10hr for full charge in smoke). But we had occasional rest days and pulled out the charger at every paddling break and meal so we could make sure our emergency devices were charged. I hadn’t read fully about the waterproofing at the attachment sites so I didn’t test it while paddling or in the rain (see my drytop wrapped around the attachment ports when expecting rain). My paddling partner brought in a smaller device that wasn’t as fast with charging, did have multiple attachments but the cables were fixed so you couldn’t have two micros or two USB C at the same time (whereas this has 3 USB ports for any combination of attachments). Overall, I love this charger. It’s weightier than I’d like on a backpacking trip but for long distance outdoor events when you’re bringing bigger volumes, this is at the top of my pile. And I’m looking forward to using it in skies that aren’t under smoke weather warnings and evacuations….
