Low to the counter so MUCH easier to use than previous one.
My previous one still works, sometimes, but is the deluxe version with cutter and bag roll storage- nice features but tall and awkward to get the bag in and initiate the vacuum process. It started not working well, so I ordered this. I HIGHLY recommend this version. Nice and flat tot eh counter so the bag isn’t fighting to pop out, great suction and very secure seal. Doesn’t have a cutter built in, so get to mess with scissors or buy pre-made bags, but I like this one much better and with I hadn’t spent the money on the Deluxe before. This one also fits right into my cabinet to clear counter space. I recommend this.

Easy to use, works fine
I have been wanting a food saver for a while because I buy a lot of meat and freeze it, but have to deal with freezer burn too often. This is so nice to have! Now my meat is packed away nicely.I was a little confused about the extra parts in the box, as it did not come with assembly instructions. I still have no idea what the metal straw is for. The green thing just fits inside the rivet. Everything else was pretty self-explanatory: cut the bag, snap it under the lid, and press seal, then put meat inside and press “moist” before vacuum sealing. Very quick and easy!If the vacuum keeps going, that means it’s having trouble sealing and you’ll need to adjust it. I tried to seal the middle of the bag to make a two sectioned pouch, but it did not want to seal properly no matter what I did. So I won’t be trying that again! Other than that, I had no issues with the bag not sealing.

Not the strongest suction, but great for the price!
This FoodSaver vacuum sealer is easy to use and does a good job for what it is. I find it works best for vacuum sealing freeze-dried fruit in canning jars. By way of bags, it only has one bag-sealing temperature (which isn’t very high, so it works best with the FoodSaver vacuum bags. I’m not a huge of a fan of the FoodSaver bags because they are a bit brittle and puncture easily. Even though the bags look like they initially vacuum and seal, after a few hours or days the vacuum is gone. I assume it is from micro-punctures from the “sharp” edges of apple chunks. So, you might want to double-bag potentially poke-y things.Overall, though, I am very happy with this vacuum sealer and would buy it again!

Takes the air out!
I took a chance and I bought this machine from the “like new” category and saved a bit of money. I also got an unused sealer! The best part for me is that it actually works exactly like it should. I have gone on a vacuum seal party and have bought in bulk to try and save money. I can safely say for me, its nice not to actually return something back to amazon, because this isn’t broken and it works! Its the perfect kitchen accessory. I even put up a dedicated shelf to store it!

As someone who likes to buy in bulk, this is great to have around. I can’t speak to the longevity yet, but so far it’s a dependable vacuum sealer. Both wet and dry modes work well, though it can be difficult to get the machine itself to “click” closed. Definitely takes some pressure. I wish there was some sort of way to keep the cord neat when not in use, but otherwise it’s not too big and it’s easy to store in a cabinet or on top of the fridge without taking up too much space.

I read a lot of the reviews and decided to order this unit. It was not hard to close or open. Itâs sealed extremely well and was easy to store because itâs narrow not as bulky as my original machine.

1. Nowhere in the description or photos does it even mention that this isn’t wired for Australian power or have an Australian plug.2. The package had obviously been opened and repacked. There were no instructions or even basic safety information included3. The whole thing just feels cheap and like a bad rip off product rather than a genuine FoodSaver???
