Nice coffee maker
I really like the thermal carafe. Turn it off and you can still get a decently hot cup hours later and it doesnât taste burnt. It stays hot even longer if you warm up the carafe right before brewing by rinsing inside with hot water. I think the circular inside water spout helps to make better coffee too. I hope it lasts long, Iâve only had it a couple months. It looks nice on the counter too. Wish the clock was a easier to see. The only way to stop the automatic timed coffee making is to unplug it, that seems strange, why not a toggle on/off? But it makes good coffee so thatâs a minor quirk.

We are loving the CM2046S!
I am a diehard review reader when I am shopping for something, so I thought that Iâd share our review of this Black And Decker coffee maker. Firstly, weâve been using a percolator for years because our last two coffee makers had glass pots with hot plates, and over time the hot plates had gotten all scratched and looked bad even after I tried to clean them. Burned on âstuffâ and I donât know what else drove me crazy. I eventually pulled out the percolator that weâd had for a long time, and honestly, although it worked fine, I wanted a change.Enter my search for a coffee maker with a thermal carafe since no hot plate is needed, and after hours of research I decided to give this one a try. I should add that my husband and I are kind of coffee snobs in that we like our coffee robust, black and on the stronger side. He likes his hot, so I was a bit concerned about this carafe.The first night I pushed the âstrongâ button, and after reading reviews, I told my husband to run the empty carafe under hot water prior to brewing to ensure hot coffee. He gets up for work well before me, so there is at least an hour after the coffee is made before I pour my first cup. Day 1 coffee was hot and very good.For day 2 and until today we havenât used the âstrongâ feature, and it honestly hasnât made a difference. Brewing time is a little less not using it (about 15 minutes), and overall itâs quiet. We have both commented that the coffee tastes better than with the percolator. I should add that I purchased a stainless steel coffee filter for Black and Decker machines here on Amazon.Itâs winter as I write this, so for now he will continue to run the carafe under hot water to help keep it hot, but as the weather warms up we are going to try to not do that. The coffee stays hot in the carafe, which was one of my concerns. In fact the first day I poured the remaining coffee into a cup at 2:30pm (he had brewed it before 6:30am), and it was still lukewarm. So hot coffee has not been an issue. We leave the carafe sitting on the countertop after brewing.Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I went back and forth on the two models listed here and ultimately chose the CM2046S. Yes, it would be nice if the clock had back lighting, but itâs not an issue for us. And as far as cleaningâ¦.when it comes time Iâll run vinegar water through it.I definitely recommend this coffee maker!

Pros:- Taste is fine. I’m not too picky.- Brews very hot and stays hot for quite a while. Although, I drink my coffee pretty fast. So I’m not sure how long.- Pours faster than others I’ve had. I like the metal ones better, but other models can pour painfully slow.- Brews at about any other models speed that I’ve had.- Has not let any grounds in my coffee (yet) This is one of the biggest problems I’ve had with other models. The filter can fold and allow grounds down. Why no models offer clips or some sort of absolute no fold method is beyond me. But this one has not folded a paper filter yet.- I’ve also had models that if the carafe is not placed perfectly under it will put the coffee all over the counter. This model doesn’t seem capable of doing that and have not had it happen yet either. Very pleasing.Cons:- Unusually lightweight. Having worked in plastics I am guessing every corner was cut for cost making it, including the plastics they chose.- There is a recess in the lid that hold fluid. Maybe I haven’t figured out how to take it fully apart yet. I was able to take one piece off which didn’t make any type of scrubbing possible in the pocket. I’m afraid mineral buildup or worse, mold could develop if it’s not able to be cleaned properly.- These metal models all have spots that are more or less impossible to clean. All you can do is run vinegar through them and hope for the best.- The plastic chosen is a very low quality and shiny. I worked in plastics and can just tell the quality. The shiny ones can scratch easier and will never look the same again. They do look nice out of the box though.Overall I’m as satisfied as I can be. Things I look for in makers just don’t seem to exist. A simple setup where you are able to clean every surface by hand, metal carafe, and impossible to fold a paper filter. So far, I’d recommend this one to anyone. If any issues arise I’ll come back and revise my review.

Best Programmable Coffee Maker I Have Ever Owned
Yes, this Black & Decker CM2406S is the best coffee maker I have ever owned, bar none. I am olde. I’ve owned a Bunn, multiple Krupps, a Melitta and a Mr. Coffee along with multiple single K-cup Keurigs.I have very large hands that require me to have winter gloves tailored to fit, and the B&D CM2406S provides the first thermal carafe that I can fit my hands inside and wash. I followed the instructions and washed all washable components and then ran two water-only brews. The first coffee produced was delicious and there was no “plastic” taste…which I’d read about in older comments here. As an engineer I can also tell you that the brewing end of this coffee maker is well-designed, producing minimal coffee scent and minimal noise while brewing. I am also actively recommending this to my friends who are looking for a coffee maker. This is a great deal for $60 and I am extremely pleased with this purchase.Definitely 5 stars for every category!!!

Compré esta cafetera para regalo a un familiar, yo la compré pensando en que era el mismo modelo que la que yo tengo en casa, con l confianza de ser una excelente cafetera, sin embargo, al parecer no todos los modelos son iguales, y en este caso no incluye el filtro permanente que mi cafetera si incluyó. Desafortunadamente eso no dice en la descripción. Confiado llegue a regalarla y la idea era hacer un café en el momento, lo cual no se pudo por la falta del filtro. Ahora se tendrá que comprar el filtro y esperar a que llegue ððð

La cafetera llegó bien y en buen estado. La cafetera funciona muy bien, llevo usandola aproximadamente 6 meses y no ha tenido fallas, la jarra mantiene caliente el agua bastante tiempo yo opino que dos horas o más se mantiene, y me gusta que al tener la jarra térmica gasto menos luz y evito tener encendida la cafetera más tiempo del requerido
