The Dr. Infrared Heater’s Advanced Dual Heating System, combining PTC and Quartz Infrared Element, keeps you warm this winter while saving on heating bills. Equipped with a Dual Heating System and High Velocity Low Noise blower, the Dr. Infrared Heater increases the heat distribution and the result is heating your room to a comfortable temperature, fast. The Dr. Infrared Heater is certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) USA and Canada, ensuring the highest safety standard. The Dr. Infrared Heater is perfectly safe around children and pets and only gets warm to the touch. It does not have exposed heating elements that can cause a fire. The Dr. Infrared Heater comes with Energy saving Auto Mode, high and low setting when the mode is set to Auto, the unit will cycle on and off and switch between high or low setting to maintain the desired temperature setting. All Dr. Infrared heaters are engineered and designed in the USA. How is Dr. Heater Different from Other Heaters? Dr. Heater uses infrared heating, which heats objects in the room, instantly making you feel comfortably warm. By heating only the objects in the space–not the air–Dr. Heater provides maximum warmth and energy efficiency. With its state-of-the-art technology that helps the room retain air moisture, Dr. Heater do not dry out your skin like those convection heaters that blast out hot air, stripping the room of moisture. And the best part? It will save you money. Use Dr. Heater instead of your regular heating system, and you could save up to 50% on your next electricity bill. Plus, with its tip-over protection and auto shut-off overheat protection, you can sleep soundly knowing you have got a heater that is superior in safety. Tests Show Dr. Heater heats Faster and Better than Competing Heaters. In a side-by-side test comparison in airtight chambers with the same starting temperature, Dr. Heater heated the same amount of space much faster than a competing heater that has a price tag more than double that of Dr. Heater. Dr. Heater Delivers 60% more heat than other 1500-watt heaters. No magic trick–we just understand heat transfer better. Just because two heaters have the same wattage does not mean they transfer the same amount of heat. Wattage indicates the amount of electricity needed to power the heater–not the amount of heat it can deliver. Heater is the first to feature a dual heating system for maximum heat transfer rate. It combines the energy efficiency of infrared heat with the comfort of convection heat to heat your room fast and comfortably–without hot spots and cold spots. Dr. Heater uses a state-of-the-art 7-inch blower that generates higher pressure and moves larger air volume at a lower speed, without any of the noise of those other heaters on the market. Dr. Infrared Heater has three power Settings: Auto, Low 1000W and High 1500W. The auto energy saving mode allows you to set your desired temperature from 50-86F. It smartly selects between the two settings depending on your room temperature. The thermostat regulates the heater and causes it to cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature. You can also manually set the heater to run on High or Low all the time or with a timer. The heater has to be turned on first in order to use the remote. This a safety provision mandated by the Underwriters Laboratory. So, in order to use the remote, the first step for the user is to press the POWER button on the heater itself. This turns the heater on STANDBY. Then, pressing the POWER button on the remote will turn the heater on. The heater can’t be turned on if the unit is not on STANDBY.

Warm and Comfy
The living room area (semi-open floor plan including kitchen and dining) in our split level has always been so cold in the winter that we hardly used it. Our HVAC needs an expensive overhaul, so that isn’t going to happen any time in the near future. This space heater was the perfect solution. It does a great job of keeping the entire space comfortable and now we all spend time together there. The important stuff:1. The heater is relatively quiet. You can hear it, but it is just quiet background noise. You don’t need to speak louder and we don’t need to turn up the TV volume.2. The heater does a good job of maintaining a set temperature automatically. It will shut off at temperature and only turn on as needed to maintain the setting. It will initially kick in with higher heat and faster fan speed (still quiet) and then adjust both downward as the space warms.3. The heater housing remains cool to the touch. The manual controls on the front of the heater are also room temperature even when the heat is blasting. I’ve never needed to use them other than turning it on the first time, so I had to make a point of checking this.4. I have not really tested the safety features, but the heater is low to the floor, reasonably heavy, and on casters that don’t roll w/o effort if placed on carpet. You would really have to manhandle this thing to get it to tip over. A casual bump or accidental shove will do no harm. It would move on the casters before it would tip over. There is a bit of clearance between the bottom of the unit and the carpet and the bottom of the unit doesn’t get hot.5. We’ve had it running in automatic/temp mode for a couple of months during a very cold spell and I have not noticed any substantive change in our electric bill.6. The power cord is long enough that you should be able to reach an outlet and keep the heater out of the way regardless of your room configuration. The overall size of the heater is also small enough that it should not be very noticeable. Ours sits between an end table and a decorative floor lamp at one end of a sofa between the living and dining areas. You can see that it is there, but it does not look out of place and it doesn’t jump out and scream ‘look at the space heater!’.7. It is very easy to use. The remote works fine and seems to have pretty good range. Once we turned it on and set it at a comfortable temperature, we haven’t really touched it. If you need to mess with it you can, and it is easy, but this is completely unnecessary in my opinion. I played with the remote once or twice just because, but that’s all. Set and forget.8. Finish on the cabinet seems pretty durable. We haven’t spilled anything on it (yet), but it is easy to clean and seems to tolerate typical cleaning products w/o issue. I’d treat it like any piece of finished wood like a coffee table or dining room table. If you place it out of the traffic areas, spills probably won’t happen and a periodic dusting or wipe down is all you’d need to do.Summary: I wish we had gotten this sooner. It is safe, quiet, does a great job, and isn’t ugly. Running in automatic mode has not impacted our electric bill. If I needed another, I would buy this again. If you are looking for a space heater for anything other than a shop space, I definitely recommend it. I suspect this would be fine in a shop environment, but I’d probably choose something built specifically for that purpose.

Updated my review…Have now purchased a 2nd…
We have a couple of Eden Pures, and decided to purchase one more. We found this one on Amazon and did some research on them. It sounded like they were pretty much the same type of heater as the eden pures, with a better price, so we purchased one.. It does work really well, although, I really can’t figure out how all the different buttons work.. But as far as turning it on and having it run, it’s great. It gets a lot hotter than the eden pures, and unfortunately, when we got our first electric bill after using it daily for a month, the bill had gone up significantly. It had a really strong odor when we first got it, which remained for a few days.. I was afraid it was a permanent smell, but it did start to fade eventually and is now gone.I guess I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone… I think the eden pures are probably the better choice.UPDATE: It’s been 3 years or so since we purchased this unit. Since then, we’ve had the bulbs go out of 2 of our Eden Pures, which would cost over $100 for each unit to replace, IF we could find someone to replace them (we can’t)… Considering this heater costs less than the price of new bulbs for the Eden Pures, it sheds a new light on this unit.I have started using this to heat my sewing room, which doesn’t have another heat source since we no longer use our propane furnace. This unit heats up the back end of our house in no time and keeps it warm. I have since discovered that this is actually a ceramic heater with an infrared bulb, so the description is not completely accurate, which bothered me when I found out. But I have to admit, it puts out a great amount of heat and really does do a great job..As for the electricity, we had blamed this unit for a spike in our electric bill, so we had started using it sparingly, only on really bitter cold days.. But since the eden pure I was using in my sewing room quit working, I’ve started using this one and our electric bill actually went down (there are other reasons, too.. We had a pellet stove installed in the main part of the house).. But my point, we blamed the spike on this unit, but now don’t think it was really the culprit..If we need another heater, we’ll probably consider another one of these.. But I do think the sellers should change their description so that customers understand this is not just an infrared heater, but actually a ceramic heater, too… I guess on the plus side, if the infrared bulb blows on these units, the ceramic heater will still operate and produce heat, where with an eden pure, if you blow just one of the bulbs (they house 4 or 6), the unit will blow out cold air rather than heat.. You can change an eden pure bulbs yourself, if you can figure it out, but the bulbs still cost $100 for the set… Crazy considering each unit costs over $300 to begin with.In a comparison, for long term use, this heater wins over the eden pures. Costs less initially and will last longer…Winter of 2015: We are now heating with a pellet stove but the master bathroom stays a little chilly. Since we were having temps as low as 39 below in February, we decided to buy another one of these heaters to use in that bathroom. It’s worked well and kept the bathroom nice and comfortable. They’re easy to roll around if you want to move from one location to another, and the 1st one we purchased has outlasted the Eden Pures we had, at a much better price.I do have to question why Amazon keeps changing the price however. We bought our 2nd one for $89 and before we even received it, Amazon had raised the price to $129, where it’s still at… Why the huge jump in price? $40 seems excessive for a price increase to me.

no where did it say that these were coming from the USA- so not compatible for use in the UK. They took my money in GBP so was none the wiser. Avoid this seller. Awaiting my returns labels and will send back as soon as i receive them.

easy to set up and move with the wheels mounted on the bottom , looks great , almost to nice to use in garage , heats up quickly not much noise , move plenty of HOT air on high , like the filter on back , easy to remove and clean . . Overall a well made heater that is easy to use , if it lasts as long as stated it is a fantastic valueUPDATEbeen over 1 year of use still works as advertised keeps the room at a steady 71 degrees cycles on and off every once in a while but fan is quiet have to be listening for it to be noticed . no more cold spots in the room with this heater running , no noticeable increase in electric bill it might be a bit lower as the baseboard heaters are working less often2ND YEAR OF USE STILL WORKING WELL HEATS my 30×16 room easily keeps it at a steady 72 degrees , puts out plenty of heat keeps my garage at 54 all winter , heating bills have gone down since replacing the old industrial heater with this . with tis heater room is a constant 38 to 42 percent humidity , when using the baseboard heaters humidity drops to between 25 and 34 percent . will be buying another for the basement , much better than the old baseboard heaters in there now.Update 2 , bought a second unit to use in the basement , heats up very quickly keeps the basement at a constant 68 degrees , when you use in econo mode it cycles on and off once in a while to test ambient temp if the temp is lower than 68 it turns on the heat if not is shuts down , people have commented that it cycles on and off , that is the reason for the cycling on and off to see if the temp is low enough that it needs to turn on heater , it is quiet so the cycling on or off should not bother you unless the heater is within a few feet of you , so far very pleased with these heatersmow have 3 heaters , these are the best space heaters i’ve ever used , i find them super quiet maybe the others complaining of being loud have bad units , the 3 i have are just about silent not disturbing at all worth the money , hydro bill has gone down as well .forgot to add it heats up very quickly , have one at the entrance to my house after shoveling snow i sit in front of the heater for a minute or 2 and i’m warm great way to defrost

I have a small apartment in a region of British Colombia where the weather in the winter usually hovers in the minus 10-15 Celsius for most of the winter. But it does get a lot colder then that at times with minus 35 or so sometimes lasting weekâs being normal. This has been my second full winter using this machine as my only source of heat for my small living room kitchen area probably 350-375 sq ft and it has been phenomenal. It has no problem keeping my place warm and not only that but itâs a nice heat. At night I turn the heat down and have actually used the remote alot and Iâve never had any issues that would make me think itâs wearing out or getting tired. Itâs as strong today as the day I bought it. People do mention the noise the fan makes, and the fact that even when itâs not heating the fan kicks in every so often but I personally donât find it very noticeable, even at first. Now I donât even hear it. I donât think Iâve ever left a review before, I usually donât care much but, I am so impressed with this heater that I felt if I could help anyone thinking of buying this machine with my experience with it then Iâm happy to do it. So I have absolutely no problem at all wholeheartedly recommending this heater to anyone thinking of buying it. One other thing, I bought a very similar heater from my local hardware store and I ended up taking it back as it was noisy didnât have wheels, and wasnât very attractive.
