The “LOCK” button is not.
Whoever designed the base unit needs lessons in English. There are TWO buttons on the motor unit, one with a picture of a padlock and one that says ON. In order to start the unit you have to press the “Lock” button and the ON button at the same time, you can then release the lock button. Once you relase the ON button you need to do LOCK+ON again. I fully understand the desire for child proofing, but since the two buttons are together they really don’t provide much safety and the word LOCK implies pushing it “LOCKS” something, not the other way around. The functions and accessories that came with it are of good quality. The motor unit is comfortable to hold.

Plenty of power
Been using it to make homemade mayo, chopping veggies & nuts, and even whipped cream. Works well for everything Iâve used it for.

My second exact one
This stick is put to high-level use every day, including mixing dry ingredients, greens and frozen fruit.. It blends quickly and well. The cup looks bad since I need to scratch off the dry ingredients from the sides during the process. After a year of use every day, one morning it made a funny sound and felt a little warm. I bought this red one – just in case – but the older one is still doing fine – with no more issues. Iâm glad to have this as a standby when/if the exact same model fails. This is a little workhorse!

Pretty good but has design flaws
Good price and great power. Issues are that to use it you have to simultaneously press a lock button and the power button to use it, it is cumbersome and not ergonomic at all. The food processor attachment has what seems like a pointless hole drilled into the top, water can easily get in even with normal washing and is impossible to get back out. Others have noted the issue and Cuisinart’s response is “do not submerge in water. I dont know if noone at Cuisinart has ever washed anything in their life, but you dont have to immerse something in water for water to get in through an open hole. How are you expected to clean it without getting it wet at all? Thankfully the stick blender build quality and price are excellent though, if not it would have only gotten 3 stars from me.

Excellent Power and Versatility
2023-06-20:Added in some pictures of the unit, variable speed, and accessories. One other note that was mentioned is that you have to press the ‘lock’ button before turning it on – Though this can be seen as an inconvenience, since it has an open blade on the bottom, I prefer the safety mechanism so turning it is 100% intentional.ORIGINAL:The Cuisinart CSB-179 Smart Stick Hand Blender is a powerhouse in the kitchen. With its impressive power, variable speed control, and easy head swapping, it effortlessly blends a variety of ingredients to perfection. It cleans up easily, and I’ve used td blending head, as well as whisker and its a lot easier than getting out the full size blender, or powered whisker. As a loyal Cuisinart customer, I am once again impressed by the quality and reliability of this product. Highly recommended!

Nice strong and steady pulse
Very sturdy and does mot come apart like most hand blenders I have had in the past years. The slow is almost too strong and can make your liquids splash a bit. I use it to make soaps, creams etcâ¦

Easy to Use When You Hold it Right
I’ve had a lot of immersion blenders over the years and they all pretty much require holding down 2 buttons at the same time as a safety feature. This is no different. It’s all in how you hold the blender that makes it easy to use. In the instructions, there is a photo of someone holding the blender so that the buttons are not facing you, but away from you. This allows your index and middle finger to operate the blender, NOT your thumb. This enables one hand operation. You just press the “unlock” button with your index finger and then the “On” button with your middle finger. Try it. Super easy when you do it right.

Wow! Extremely powerful
I owned an earlier version on this handmixer and used it until it died from too much love. I was happy to find this replacement. I am extremely happy to report that this version is a beast and works even better than my first one. Easy to clean and comes with attachments that will be used continually with the handmixer. My only complaint is that they engineered it so that you have to push a button above a button and then push the button below it in order to get it to start. I have a little difficulty doing that because of the dexterity of my hands. The previous model did not have this additional safety feature.

Thereâs nothing to criticize about this great kitchen tool. Itâs perfect for making smooth and creamy soup. Easy to use and clean. Much better than lugging out the blender. Highly recommend!

This is our second time purchasing this product as our last model lasted us nearly 15 years. It was used regularly and performed without issue! I am sure this one will be equally great!

Excelente compra.
