this is my second year of using this. The material seems to stand up well after my second year. I have vinyl windows and I think on my third year I will have to replace the Velcro strips on the vinyl window because they are peeling loose in the corner. But I got two years use out of it so far.

Easy, Inexpensive solution to a cooling problem.
I ordered this for the bedroom above the garage that is always hot during the summer. I had a portable unit from my daughter’s college days but thought it would be impossible to use because I have casement windows. I had been looking at other ventless AC units on Amazon when I came upon this window seal solution. It works great! I got it in the mail on Saturday and installed it on Sunday. Easy install. 10 to 15 minutes max. Got an email message from the supplier HOOMEE asking if I needed help installing it, but I had already done it before I got the message and the link to an instruction video. The printed directions that came with the seal were very self explanatory, but it did help to see the photos other reviews had posted to see it on the window. My only issue was of my own making. I did not contact HOOMEE before I ordered a size to see how exactly to determine the size you needed. I just based it on a review I saw and looked at their window size. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product. A inexpensive and quick fix to use a portable AC unit with casement windows. Would recommend it without hesitation. My window still closes properly with the window seal installed and it hold my exhaust tube properly when in use or not in use. It comes with ties to attach the hose to the zippers of the seal to make sure it all stays together and secure. Best $ I think I have ever spent to make my home more comfortable for guests using that bedroom.

Vinyl window closure
Purchased this because I have an odd shaped window that cranks open. There were few options for installing an air conditioner in this hot room (despite central air), so I purchased a floor model. This seems to be the easiest option for installation. I looked at the directions, it’s fairly common sense. Stick on the Velcro and then attach it. It attaches fine. The vinyl is thin and flaps in the breeze if you don’t get it tight enough. It definitely doesn’t come together like the picture unless you have a degree in engineering. It works fine and really that is all I needed. My daughter has not complained once, that in itself is a miracle. The room gets cold and I can close the window when the AC is not in use. So, 4 stars because it saved me from replacing the window for another year and it works!

Made a huge difference!
Our HVAC system went out in 90+ degree temps. The part is on back order indefinitely. We needed something quickly until we figure out next steps. So, we bought 2 portable AC units. Initially, we had cardboard around the hose. It left huge gaps and did not work well since we have crank windows. This product is awesome in how well it works! The Velcro really helps to seal everything to keep out bugs and the elements. The zipper for the hose fits nice and snug. The instructions were not that easy to follow, but when I laid everything out, it made sense.

Iâd youâve got no other option this is what you need. I didnât want to remove my crank out window, and use plywood or plexiglass. This was simple to install, although it took a few minutes to figure out how Iâd need to set it up. I now can sleep comfortably at night with air conditioning. Word of advise, make sure you measure exactly how youâll run this around the window. I measured wrong the first time, and had to order a larger one. Very happy with this product though Iâm no longer sweating in this hot summer heat.

BEWARE!!!
It worked perfectly all summer for what was needed. Now it’s fall, we’re getting ready to move, and I tried to take it down to pack it away and EVERY INCH OF GLUE stayed on the window frame. I have tried scraping, I’ve tried using a razor, I’ve tried Goo Gone (even leaving it covered on the area for hours) and NOTHING will get this glue off. I am terrified that our apartment building is going to try to charge us for an entirely new window.I tried to get a better picture but with the light outside it was difficult.DO NOT BUY THIS.

A lifesaver
We bought a new house, immediately moved in and a month later had our first baby. On top of all this commotion the water heater broke and flooded the house. Needless to say we were stressed as was our piggy bank. Flash forward and the weather starts heating up. We knew this house had no air conditioning and not a single ceiling fan in sight but the casement windows were a surprise. We rushed to find a solution to utilize our standing air conditioning and keep our baby cool. This product did just that! Takes a moment to read the directions and conceptualize the application especially for us since our windows crank out but once we figured it out, it worked perfectly. I was worried about a complete seal especially with the rain but we’ve had some major thunderstorms lately and there’s been no issue whatsoever. We have since hired a company to install wall split units but until then this product saved us time, money, and stress. Thank you!

Great! Keeps out the cold like nobody’s business.
I bought this after freezing all winter to accommodate a vent in an outward-opening casement window in my basement. Prior to buying this, the room would be FREEZING with the window cracked just enough to accommodate the 4″ vent, even with blinds drawn and insulated blackout curtains.This thing is incredibly effective at keeping out the cold! The material of the seal is thin, but it can be 30°F out and my room is as warm as if the window were shut. Very impressed. I’m still using the blinds and curtains for light control– YMMV if you used it in a bare window.Haven’t owned it through hot temperatures yet, but so far very pleased with the purchase. Install was easy. Have not noticed any water or critters getting in, despite it being in a deep window well.

These work really well for making your window AC unit more efficient. It wasn’t hard to install but it was a bit of a pain. It sticks really well (like really well…not sure what we’re going to do when we move out because I don’t see it coming off, but I guess that’s a later problem).
