Best Coffee Scale
I bought a bunch of coffee scales including the Greater Goods coffee scale and returned all except this one. This one was the cheapest one I bought but turned out to have the best accuracy (good down to 0.1g, tested against my other scales) as well as good functionality and nice styling. Small input lag but only 1-2 seconds, very manageable for the price point. The buttons are a touch annoying because they aren’t physical buttons but rather a touch-screen type button, so on occasion it doesn’t register your touch, but you quickly learn how to get it to register every time. Returned the Greater Goods scale and a few others. This one is a keeper.

Solid build quality, measuring coffee makes a better cup or shot.
This is my 1st coffee scale. I used to just measure by the scoop and eyeball the water level on my V60 pour overs. My coffee was pretty good. Then I got this scale to get more accurate and WOW, my pour overs are better and I even use less beans and save money. For MY pour overs, I measure 30 grams of whole beans, grind them and pour 440 grams of water using shorter pours at specific gram weights and this scale helps me do that. It’s great that it has a battery in it and can charge with USB every couple of weeks with daily use. The led timer in red and the weight in white led is easy to see and bright enough. It is very accurate and changes easily from grams to ounces, pounds, ml and fluid ounces.Works great for spices too when cooking or baking and I need very small grams of salt or yeast and my larger scale is not very accurate on lighter or small weights. It is 1.1″ tall so it will not fit under my Gaggia Classic Evo espresso machine unless I remove the drip tray, but you might have a tall espresso machine and use a non-spouted portafilter and so the 1.1″ tall scale might easily fit under your espresso unit to measure as you pour.

Great scale for the price!
This really is a nice scale for espresso. This scale replaced a less expensive one that went to 1/100th of a gram, so not as accurate. However this one is sealed other than the USB charging port which ups the durability substantially. My previous scale was not water resistant but it did live for about 5 years. Scale turns on with the slightest touch near the power sensor on the control pad. The automatic timer is less sensitive both in the control pad and when it detects the first drops of espresso. I suppose this is down to the weight sensor only accurate to 1/10th of a gram. The scale needs to be charged about once a month and lets you know when it needs some juice.

Incredible value for the price
Fast, accurate, and very aesthetically pleasing. My two complaints are 1) the timer starting when weight is added is unreliable 2) it’s a bit tall to put under my BES840XL. Otherwise a winner and still totally worth it.

The better of about 5 scales I purchased for espresso pulls. Still issues with TOUCH
UPDATE with issues after longer use:So after owning a button push scale and this touch sense scale, I have noticed a pattern that these touch scales have…They SUCK for espresso! When making espresso, I tend to wash a couple things like pitcher, or a different cup I want to use, but even with dry clean hands these touch buttons do NOT work in a FAST paced routine. I have BOTH a push button, and 3 of these touch sense scales. The PUSH BUTTON NEVER fails, as its a confirmed push. The touch, is confused at times, and turning off is not clear, resetting the timer is not clear. I DO NOT want a scale that I have to think about. I need to press a button and it needs to respond 99-100% of the time. Its that simple. So I have to get rid of these and get a push button scale. Otherwise, this one is OK at best. This one is larger than the Maxus, which actually helps vs getting in the way. Let me explain….I use 2 scales. 1 dedicated by my grinder, which is actually a great scale pictured in the photos, and after being frustrated with the malfunctioning of the Maxus as false button selects due to wet hands or wet display…I purchased the BAGAIL Scale, this one to pull shots, weigh and time my extractions. This being a bit larger makes it easy to see the screen as it sticks out further from my drip tray area. Also the buttons are touch-sensitive, but, these are much less prone to false presses for some reason. Ironic, as the Maxus claims water resistant, and has a nice waterproof cover for the USB charge port, yet fails to work well in such work areas. You never plan on having a wet area, or fingers when making espresso, but then again, you will at times.Besides, with smaller display being under the grouphead, it is harder to read the Maxus, AND you will surely get water drops on it. All it takes is a small drop and the screen does things on its own.The battery life seams so far pretty good for 1 weeks/daily(more than 1 drink) use with no charging. So the CONs for this BAGAIL are:1.No cover for USB port from getting wet. (Though it is on the side will not a high likely hood of that happening, it would raise buyer confidence).2. The auto timing starts about 2-3 seconds delay from the first drop in the cup3. The scale platform is plastic (Maxus is stainless steel. This does NOT effect performance per say. But the Maxus feels nice and weighty, while the Bagial is a bit less weight and lacks that feel of perceived “quality”).4. The rubber cover on the platform has deep grooves making it hard to clean and dry. I flipped mine over and it solves this (Maxus is same issue). In fact, I am not sure why they (ones I tried) dont make the rubber cover like a dish with ease wipe surface? So much easier and catches any liquid spills. No brainer! The Bagail also has a nice optional Beep sound at each press, so no guessing if you got it.I also tried 2 other scales, the smaller ones with lid cover. Those are a joke. Unless you have a tiny machine, or using it for snorting your grind beams, they are pretty much useless, and cumbersome to deal with, AND 1 of 2 failed on me. See my reviews on them.

Bought this because the kitchen scale was simply not accurate enough. I love this product! Great quality, and comes with an easy to clean removable silicone top, the timer works great, and the scale is definitely precise and accurate. Small enough not to get in the way, and fits on my breville espresso maker just enough to get my cup on under the portafilter basket. My only minor complaint is the battery does need to be charged somewhat more often than I would expect, but itâs usb rechargeable and charges quickly so itâs in no way a dealbreaker. Very happy with this purchase!

Consigliatissima!
