Very Pleased! Especially For The Price Point!
It’s been years since I messed with having one of these, so I was somewhat experienced with what they offer and how to use them. But this “years later” purchase was because I’ve been adding to “Pantry” items, and also buying long-term storable foods for a few months now, some of which come vacuum sealed, some of which sometimes arrive with that seal having leaked air into the packaging! Yes, they will send a replacement if I complain, but I saw this.. and for the Price, figured I’d give it a try! It has worked absolutely perfectly for my needs so far, and does what it’s supposed to do if you follow the simple do’s and don’t s for how to use them, and what Brand Sealer Bag Rolls that work with it. I ordered bags of the same brand to be sure! I’ve experimented with sealing different types of foods and bulk food stuffs as well, adding oxygen absorbers before sealing. I’ve had ZERO problems so far after sealing at least 20 or so packages just to test it out with multiple uses. It’s really nice to have around now! And for the price paid to experiment with it, and for my “Intermittent” use needs, I’m plenty satisfied! Great little sealer for the price! Make sure and buy the recommended type and sizes of sealer bag rolls when you purchase as this has just a few of those in the box to try out with. Hope this helped!

Good value
The food saver is easy to use and works well. The price was quite reasonable. I was expecting less, but am pleasantly surprised it works very well. It works as advertised.

Love!
I was nervous that this would be difficult to use. It is so easy! To set-up and clean up is easy as well! I will be teaching my kids to use this. Tip… liquid, makes it hard to seal. Pay attention if you vacuum.

One of the best vacuum sealers I’ve used!
This is a great vacuum sealer, one of the better ones that I’ve used. I like the fact that the ‘seal’ (where the bag is melted together) is wider than most. I’ve found this to make for a better seal. It’s probably twice the width that I’ve seen with other sealers (including the major brands). It has the external accessory port which is nice for vacuum-sealing mason jars. While it’s not the same as water canning, it’s good for some purposes where the moisture in the air causes food to go stale. It’s also great for keeping dried garden herbs fresh. This sealer does a good job of maximizing utility with a compact form factor.Marking down very slightly in the Ease of Use category because when manually trying to manually trigger the seal function (i.e. for softer items you don’t want crush with a high pressure vacuum seal), I found I had to hit the seal button multiple times. This took a few tries to get right, but isn’t an issue once you get it figured out.

Diva
There is no instruction guide for what types of foods you can seal, so I had to experiment. The machine comes with a few 8″x10″ bags but I also purchased 8″x20″ bags and two, 8″ x 20 foot rolls that can be customized. All bags are flat. There is no room for larger meats such as a roast or meatloaf, etc. The photo shows my first attempt to vacuum seal some rolls for freezing. The roll on the left is the fresh one. The one in the middle contains 2 rolls and was sealed using the “dry” button. The one on the right has 2 rolls and was sealed with the “moist” option. They may end up as Thanksgiving stuffing because I don’t believe they’ll spring back to life. Then I moved on to meat. In one of the bags I made from the customizable roll of bags, I added large strips of beef with marinade. I selected “moist” and it sucked up the marinade to the seal edge and wouldn’t seal since the edge was now wet. Palm to head, I should have figured that out on my own but, too late. I dried off the edge, pressed out the air by hand, carefully lined up the dry edge with the sealer strip and just sealed it. You have to be sure that edge is perfectly even and perfectly flat or it won’t seal completely. Hence the Diva.Next I tried a small roast with a few tablespoons of marinade and pressed the air out by hand and sealed. Could have done that with a zip-lock bag with far less effort but I was trying to buy in bulk, stock up and save money with this vacuum seal dream.I used the moist seal for 1 pound bags of ground beef but the beef had to be smashed until it was flat in the bag and it still didn’t completely “vacuum” the air out and I could move the beef around after it was sealed. You have to “insert” the edge of the bag into a little gully just above the heat sealer strip. That gully doesn’t hold-on to your bag, so you have to be sure it doesn’t move and it stays flat. There was an extra piece of black foam in the box but there are no instructions that tell you if you need that for anything. I thought maybe you put that foam strip on top of the bag edge in the gully to hold it in place while you seal, but no, it doesn’t fit – so what is it for? Do I need it – who knows. You also have to leave 3 inches of space between the item in the bag and the sealed edge. Not much room for anything. This machine also came with a vacuum tube and some little attachments. The instructions do say that this catheter tube is for sucking the air out of a small container, which can be purchased separately. No thanks. The box the machine was packed in does have a warning label that warns not to purchase any bags that are not Bonsenkitchen or they won’t seal.Had I known this is a limited, fussy little machine I would have purchased a larger vacuum sealer that could seal larger, thicker bags. I’ll use this when I run out of zip-locks bags. I’m sure it will be good for things like nuts or flatter, drier items. Disappointed.

Works great
Iâm new to vacuum sealing so I didnât want to spend a lot on a machine in case I didnât love it. Well, I love it! Iâm obsessed and canât believe I didnât try it sooner. This sealer is AmaZing. It works great on wet and dry food and the heat seal has not disappointed me once. I love that I can thaw meat without worrying about it leaking. If youâre looking to buy a vacuum sealer this is a great bang for your buck!!

Inexpensive, not perfect
I donât have a more expensive unit to compare this to, but Iâm guessing the pricier vacuum sealers are less temperamental than this one. Iâve had times the seal flat-out doesnât work, so Iâve started preheating the sealing function (just pressing Seal with no bag in) while I load ingredients into the bags. That seems to help. As others noted, pressing down the front middle area on the machine seems to help with vacuum effectiveness. I get air bubbles a lot with this machine, Iâve had to redo at times for sous vide. I kind of wish I hadnât cheaped out, but Iâm making it work.
