Works Well for Technologically Challenged Senior
Our elderly family member does not do well with technology, so we were more than a little apprehensive moving to a cell phone. This flip phone has more than done the job! To answer a call, they just flip the phone open and to hang up they just close the phone…no touching, swiping, or button pressing needed. We have immediate family members programmed into the speed dial function, so they just press and hold one digit to call the person they want to reach. (We keep a list by the phone charging station in case they forget.) We also programmed in the names and numbers of friends who are likely to call. If the phone rings and a known name doesn’t show on the phone, they don’t answer the call and we check for voicemail messages later. This keeps them from being bothered by scam and robo calls.Having to use the number pad to program in names is a bit cumbersome, but it is worth it to give our senior family member the independence to make and receive calls on their own. It also give us peace of mind to know that they can easily call us if there is an emergency or question. If you senior wants a simple cell phone, this may be the one. We’ve had the phone for several months now and have been very happy with our purchase so far.

Setup not intuitive but afterwards was so-so.
I really give this phone 2 1/2 stars. I payed about $65. I bought this for my father who had been using another flip phone with prepaid service from ATT. This phone requires a micro-size SIM card or a nano-size can be used with the supplied adapter. This was not quite clear in the manual but I was able to figure it out. At an ATT store I was able to get a new SIM card for $5 and my dad was able to keep his current phone number. Changing settings and inputing text for adding contacts was not intuitive and I had to carefully read the manual. So I think this would probably not be easy for many seniors. But, once you figure that out and have the settings you want in place, then it is fairly easy to make phone calls from your contacts or by using the keypad. To answer calls, you can just flip open the phone without pressing the answer (green) button. My dad thought it was easy to make and answer phone calls. It can charge using a typical micro-USB cable/charger. The pictures from its 2 megapixel camera were rather poor.2 month update – The external display stopped working. I have to downgrade my satisfaction with the phone to 1.5 stars due to poor quality.

Excellent phone for my elderly parents.
This phone is much easier for my parents to use than the one they got from T-mobile. We are VERY happy with the ease of use this phone provides, and it was much easier to add contacts and even photos so they can see who theyâre calling easier. It is loud enough for them to hear it, and they canât accidentally turn the volume down with the side buttons since the phone has to be open to use them. Likewise, thereâs also a side button for a flashlight. They donât use text or Internet, but the text feature is also pretty easy to use. It even comes with an optional lanyard that is helpful as theyâre always misplacing their phone. I would highly recommend this product for anyone needing an easy-to-use basic phone. I donât write reviews often unless I am exceptionally happy or exceptionally disappointed, so this one is worth the time. I received the phone quickly with a follow up from the seller to make sure everything was satisfactory. Five stars, two thumbs up 🙂

It’s so Basic that It’s Not Intuitive
The Positives:I want a phone that can call and text. That’s it. No social media. No internet. This phone definitely fits the bill; it’s BEYOND basic. It can call and text–that’s about it. In true dumphone fashion, this phone only takes pic that kids these days would describe as “potato-quality.” That’s fine by me, I don’t take pictures on my phone anyway. I’m a 90s baby so the flip phone form factor is 11/10. It feels very 2000s. I also love that it comes in blue. That’s about the end of the positives. The radio quality is insanely good. I’m sure this would be a great music player, although I’m equally sure the storage space is garbage and putting music on the phone would be a pain in the neck. Again, I didn’t buy the phone for the music so that’s fine too. One of the things I hated the most about my previous dumphones was that they all had apps installed on them that couldn’t be uninstalled. Not this phone. It truly is bare bones. The Negatives:The capabilities of the phone are so basic that there’s not a whole lot of room to get confused, but operating this phone is NOT intuitive. I’m a 28-year-old dumbphone veteran and this phone actually stumped me. I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the display settings for the clock, nor could I figure out how to change the ring tone. Reading the manual has been no help. I actually had to consult YouTube videos to help me figure out this dang phone. The buttons make noise whenever I press them, and I STILL can’t figure out how to change that either. Here’s an example of the unintuitive navigation. There’s a button that corresponds to “menu” but when you press it, it doesn’t take you to a menu. Instead, it takes you to a screen that says “Message” with an envelope icon; you can either press “OK” or press “BACK.” If you press “OK,” it’ll take you to your messages. If you press “BACK” it will take you to the home screen. There’s nothing to indicate that you need to press the “up arrow” to scroll through your menu options! Also, the battery life is abysmal for a dumbphone.

So far so good
So far so good. It took Metro PCS by T-Mobile 15 minutes to set the phone up. My grandmother loves how big the letters are on the screen & says itâs easy to read. We love how we can add contact photos and a picture pops up to see whoâs calling, while the phone is both closed and opened. The number pad is bulky and big for big and trembly fingers. My only wish is that it came with a phone case. It seems very light and not heavy and Iâm concerned one drop itâll ruin the phone. However, overall usage of the phone is fairly easy and the menu has largo photos and text which is exactly what she needs.

I bought this phone in June 2020 so it has been in use for 2 years and 8 months. My old friend mentioned in the first review (shown below) to whom I gave the phone managed to lose the back cover of his phone and a thorough search of his apartment did not reveal it. The phone actually worked perfectly without it but the insides were exposed and that is an invitation to disaster around this old chap. Through Amazon, I was able to contact the supplier and explain my predicament, offering to pay whatever they wanted to charge if they could send me a replacement cover. They offered to send me one from China at no charge. That was about 3 weeks ago and today the cover arrived as promised with no cost to me or my careless friend. This supplier deserves the highest marks for their excellent customer service long after the sale. Thanks guys!I got this phone for a technically challenged old friend with no patience and a tendency to lapse into Tourette’s style language when frustrated. This is such an easy phone to get the hang of that he has only fallen into the syndrome twice since I introduced him to it and both times I have received immediate help from the supplier when I was unable to spot the problem on my own. And don’t be deceived by the easy part. This phone seems capable of doing almost anything my really expensive smart phone will do if you are so inclined. It is a well thought out alternative for old folks who like to simply have a phone that is with them all the time and I highly recommend it for that purpose, but it will also serve well for someone who just wants a very capable phone that is small enough to fit into any pocket. I particularly like the charging station idea for people whose fingers are no longer supple enough to fuss with a mini usb connector.

This is a great little phone for older people. Nice size with big buttons and fairly easy to use. Easy to use charger. Took me awhile to set it up for my mom and delete screens that wouldnât be used. The only issue is the volume. The ringer is nice and loud but trying to hear the other person talk can be difficult and sometimes a little tinny. She wont wear a hearing aid. Otherwise its a nice phone!

Bought this for my mother, as she is not a technology user but I wanted her to have a cell phone for emergencies or trips. It was fairly easy for me to set it up for her, I like the big buttons and simplicity overall (hard to find simple flip-phones nowadays!). It could have been a bit easier to set up the shortcuts and making sure the time auto-adjusted so it did not have to be reset every time you powered it on, and the camera is really hard to use and not really worth it, but otherwise, it works well for a senior once I set it up for her. I like that it came with a charging dock so she does not have to fumble with chords, and the extra battery will be useful for trips and holidays. Overall well worth it for the price, and gives me some peace of mind knowing my mom can call me in emergencies.

The delivery of the phone was fast. Perfect for my elderly mother who only requires the phone for phone calls coming in and out. Large buttons and easy to use my mother loves it especially the easy rechargeable base where she just has to site the phone in the base recharger no fumbling with wires. However we bought the phone in Nov of last year 2021 5 months later and the phone is dead and will not power up and battery lifespan is very short.

Bought this for my father in his 70s, replacing a Samsung flip phone. The battery on his previous phone was 800mAH and it is the same capacity with this Easyfone Prime A1, the difference being you get 2 batteries in the box. Speaking w my father he says it lasts about 2 days mostly idle/standby on a full charge for him (he isn’t using his phone a lot, just occasional calls here and there).Bottom line the phone works as advertised, the features are great. Buttons large and very visible for my father to use and find. He likes having the radio and navigating the menu isn’t difficult after I gave him a few brief tutorials. My father uses this phone on Telus here in Canada and remarks the call quallity is very clear and volume is great. Hope this helps =) we are happy with this phone~!
