Excellent filter for my Subaru Outback and others…..
These Fram Ultra Synthetic filters are an excellent choice for your next oil change on your expensive vehicles. I use this one (XG7317) on my 2020 Subaru Outback and the XG3976 on my 2019 Ram Limited 6.7 l Cummins. I also use other sizes of this filter on my John Deere lawn tractor and my compact utility tractor/loader. They all have media with excellent filtration specifications, backflow valves, and sealing gaskets that never fail. The canister itself is built very heavily so you don’t need to worry about crushing or damage to it when installing or removing. The black gripping coating is really helpful, assuring that your hand or filter wrench will not slip on the canister body. All of the Ultra Synthetic series sizes are well priced, assuring that you are getting the best value for your filtration dollars. The cheapest line of Fram filters (PH plus a number ) are often criticized as junk. Don’t confuse those with the Ultra Synthetic line of Fram. The Ultra Synthetic line of filters are high quality and high performance. Highly recommended. If you buy them with a quantity discount, or even in a subscription, they are even cheaper than individually, making these an even better value.

I left it on the car for a year with oil changes twice a year. Drove about 15K miles during those times and the car is still running great as usual. Heck, less work for me to change oil and filter. Save on money too.

Great oil filter
My FAVORITE feature of this oil filter is the texture on top. Installing and removing this is so much easier than the slippery smooth texture of other oil filters. As far as the quality goes, it seems as good as any other oil filter. The texture on top though is a game changer for people (like me) who are old school and still do their own oil changes. I’ll buy this brand going forward.

Good filter for the money, less expensive than ones I can get from the local parts store. Good quality have used this brand for years. Gives good milage for the money, I usually run full synthetic in my vehicles. Will buy again for all my vehicles when needed.
