Easy to use, but smaller than I thought
I bought this for making sourdough and homemade soaps. I should have read the dimensions and weight limit before buying. I primarily use the grams setting and it caps out at about 500g. This just means I have to measure things separately. No biggie. It’s small and easy to use.

This is the best one
There are lots of these small scales out there but this one serves the purpose the best. The larger surface area is convenient as are the two trays that come with it.

Works perfectly
This little scale has been very accurate and durable. I use it mostly for measuring spices and other lightweight food items such as parsley or cilantro, and it performs very well.

Accurate- But keep away from water!
Edit: The review I wrote before still stands. This scale and other iterations with different brand names are very accurate. This one lasted a couple years. But somehow water got in last night and it is now dead. Having success with this model has led me to buy a replacement (4/28/24). One tip (that I didn’t heed this time) was to cover the buttons and read-out with scotch tape. The tape makes it a bit harder to read, but the tape will prohibit water from getting into the circuitry and killing the machine. I don’t remember if I mentioned it below, but in addition to measuring coffee beans I use it to measure output from my espresso machine. Another way to protect the circuitry is to use one of the plastic covers, but inverted. This helps prevent water from getting near the buttons and read-out.Continue to read original review………………………..I have had three or four of these types of scales over the years. I primarily use them for accurately measuring out coffee beans that go into a grinder.Important for me? 0.01g delineation. 0.1 grams isn’t what I want or need. Downside? Only 500g maximum weight that it can measure. I have a separate scale for those heavier things. What to look out for. Other than weight parameters, look at the configurations. Most are the same, with different brand stamping, some cheaper than others. Some delivered a bit quicker with some sort of minor discount attached. But for the most part, they have been identical. When dealing around water of any kind, put a piece of tape over the buttons and display to keep the water out. When I got lazy with this it wasn’t very long before the scales would crap out. My last scale that I had over 2 years just did that.Shop Amazon for price on the identical but differently branded scales. You might save 30% or more just by looking around. Look at dimensions of the scales so that you know that what you buy will work in the space you’re working in.These scales are cheap, not fancy. I don’t recommend them for fine jewerly work. You will want something more precisely calibrated and durable. But for what I use this scale for, it works. Hopefully I’ll get another couple years out of this replacement.

Innacurate, chintzy and lots of misinformation about the calibration weight needed
This scale is inaccurate and useless. I used it to compound herbal medicine, mixing one strain with another to get a balanced effect. I weighed out .25 of one type of herb. Then I weighed out the second herb and got .19. So I ground up more and tried to get 0.06, in order to get the equivalent amount of the second herb. Despite having a readout that displays hundredths of a gram, this scale does not have this accuracy. I kept putting herb on the scale, and it kept showing 0.00. I touched my finger to the scale to jog it, but it kept showing what that about .2g of herbs (based on my estimate) was 0.00. This scale does not have the accuracy to weigh 0.06g or something like that. It wonât even do tenths of a gram accurately. Itâs garbage! If you are using it to compound herbal medicine or weigh out edibles, prepare for unexpected results. For now, I will go back to making these compunds using a 1/4 teaspoon. It is not accurate, as weight is a better measure, in theory. In practice, with this GDEALER scale, one is better off just using measuring spoons. This scale is so frustratingly inaccurate!!!I basically threw the scale on the floor and crushed it with my foot, out of frustration. It crushed like a cockroach, as the plastic is so chintzy. It is not worth returning this PoS. It is cheap Chinese garbage that I was swindled into buying with these fake reviews. Yeah, most of the verified buyers work for GDEALER. That is the oldest trick in the book. Amazon reviews are totally pwned by businesses. The other reviewers donât even know what an accurate scale is.I used to have an Ohaus digital scale that, unfortunately, got ruined due to high humidity causing the batteries to leak. That scale was accurate and could weigh out small amounts. It was well made. It cost a few dollars more than this cheap PoS.If you do decide to buy this chintzy PoS, one thing that must be made clear â YOU NEED A 100G WEIGHT FOR CALIBRATION!!! They donât even know how to write a proper manual. I keep seeing 500g over and over. Yeah, I bought a 500g weight, based on the answers and comments. Thatâs not true. Now I have to deal with returning it. I wonder if someone is misinforming people to make a sale? Iâm not even sure if itâs worth the bother returning the weight. Ugh! Maybe keep it to smash the scale when you inevitably get frustrated with it.This again, leads me to believe most of the reviews are fraudulent. If you plan on buying a calibration weight, wait until you get the scale. It will display the weight needed on the screen when you calibrate it.The company that makes this scale is so cheap, you wonât find an answer to this in their manual. I looked all over the Internet for this info.Just wait until you get the scale before you buy a calibration weight. I was so f-ing p.o.âd when I found this out, I wanted to smash the scale. What a cheap company! They use the same manual for various scales, so the info is generic.Better yet, donât buy this scale. Ohaus makes better scales than this. There are other companies that make better ones too. I have only owned two scales, but thatâs enough to realize this GDEALER scale is not good.I should have known better. GDEALER is the sketchiest name and their products are s#!t.Amazon needs to take a look at these reviews. No way is this a 4 1/2 star product. Something fishy is going on here.

Been using it for a few months and put it to the test against coins (you can research the weight of a coin) a few times and its passed these tests every time. Previous balance from a different seller started being off after 2 months of use. This one seems to last.
