Decent quality especially for the price.
Installed pretty easy and seems sturdy, only had it in for a few weeks now but it seems good.

Does what it promises.
I found this easy to install and sturdy enough to very well support my window AC. Since I put in the AC in the summer and take it out of the window in winter to avoid drafts, this support makes the job so much easier. I don’t have to worry about dropping the AC unit out of the window putting in or out. Installing this support has resulted in a lot less stress for me, twice a year! I only put a 5,000 BTU unit on it, so I can’t say how it would do with a larger unit, but it does well with my size unit. I am happy with this product and the price was reasonable.

Solid, sketchy directions
First, the good. This is heavy duty and does what it’s supposed to. This is MUCH better than letting your A/C unit fall out of your window. If you have a window A/C, you probably want this little shelf. It’s about 5 inches wide or so, which means you’ll want to install near the middle. It comes with strong, plastic risers that let you control the height. Those work well.I do have two issues. I don’t think this should warn people off — it’s a good product. But you might want to know this before you install. They tried to do decent instructions, but I don’t believe they tried very well. I ended up goofing on one of my windows, and when I removed the A/C for the winter and tried to shut the window, I realized I mounted it too closely to the closed window, and it interferes. The directions try to warn you about this, but they do so in a confusing fashion. So, word to the forewarned: mount this far enough on the sill that you can close your window when you remove the A/C for the season. The second thing I don’t like: The support angle part, the thing that bends down at a 45-degree angle to provide support at the end — it doesn’t actually attach to the house. It has a rubber end, and you can sort of screw it down at the attachment point so it stays, but it stays where it is by friction, not because it’s attached.Okay, I get it. They didn’t want to screw holes into the outside of the house. That’s probably for the better. But I am really worried (it hasn’t happened yet) that it won’t remain at the 45, and the shelf will dip. I believe the unit would be better served if there was a way to ensure the 45-part absolutely remained at 45 degrees and couldn’t fall open, letting the shelf fall open and your A/C unit fall to the ground.Like I said — it hasn’t happened, and maybe I’m worried about nothing. Please be careful when you do your install.

This bracket like that somewhere
I purchased this for my new air conditioners. Itâs certainly strong enough. I have used A/C safe bracket in the past. This bracket like that somewhere. Designed to go on to window sill, so air conditioner can sit on it. They do support the air conditioner. But this bracket is better than what I have purchased from other brands. It has longer shelf which holds the unit in place steadily. The shelf length is 13.6 inch. I can trust the windows to keep them safe. Conversely, other brands seems a little bit short to give enough support. It is quite easy to put them in as instructions. The instructions provided with the mount give a pretty good detail as how to install the bracket on different types of sills. It also shows how to adjust the rubber foot for the correct angle easily. You just need to place max angled (about 45 degree) end of leg flat against underside of body. Then the rubber foot wonât be able to slide off. But make sure your sill can place the concave block which is about 1 1/2 inch. Also, the window to the outside wall needs 3-4 inch at least. I really like the ease of installation and quality. This support worded perfectly for its purpose.

easy-peezy
This brace was quite easy to install. The only difficulty I had was drilling through the metal frame of my window case…. having metal or wood drill bits handy is the best advice I would volunteer. Other than that you just have to measure, prop-up the bracket to the correct height (of the window frame) using the plactic blocks (included) and you then line up the bracket to the drill holes and screw it down. It almost sets itself into position (with a little maneuvering and a couple of curses) and – that’s it, your done. I’m not handy at all – I watched a UTUBE video and just followed along with the video instruction and it was easy!! The instructions included in the box are practically worthless so… rely on the internet web sites for a better look at how to install. Like I said… I’m not handy at all and I installed the bracket in about 30 minutes…

Not sturdy especially from the 6th floor
After reading all the good reviews, I got this AC window bracket for my GE 12,000 BTU AC. I live in a condo in NYC and I wanted to make sure the AC unit was supported. My windows are new and theyâre aluminum, the sill on the outside is concrete/brick. The paper instructions are little hard to follow but there is a YouTube video from the manufacturer, so I watched that several times and attempted to install with the help of a friend. We drilled per the instructions but once we got the bracket on, there were some problems:1. The supporting leg that fits between the bracket and the building facade was loose and we couldnât get good tension on the leg, even after adding some of the AC weight on it.2. The 3 screws that fit in the plastic blocks were not snug, even with the anchors in the concrete sill. They would jiggle and after a while during the installation, they just lifted out of the sill when slight pressure was adding to the bracket. This was a little alarming…3. Due to the height of the bottom of my window and the sill with the bracket mount, there was still a 1 3/4â gap so I tried to fill it with a piece of wood but again, due to the height of the unit and fear of something getting loose and dropping 6 floors, I decided to scrap the whole project. In short, my AC isnât up and this purchase was a bust.

I had to customize (drill extra holes in the leg) to make the bracket fit snug against the exterior of my home. Bracket also took a long time to arrive and didn’t receive any tracking info.
