Product Description
L-Ascorbic Acid Powder (Cosmetic Vitamin C Powder)
L-Ascorbic Acid is a popular water-soluble ingredient used in skincare and is the best form of Vitamin C to make your own effective Vitamin C formulations. It is typically used as a skin care ingredient in formulations up to 20% in water-based solutions.
Use L-Ascorbic Acid in serums, creams, and moisturizers to supercharge your favorite products with the antioxidant power of fresh Vitamin C.
Example Recipe Portion (5% Concentration)
1/4 tsp Vitamin C Powder4-3/4 tsp Water-Based Liquid/Hyaluronic Acid Gel Base
Example Recipe Portion (10% Concentration)
1/2 tsp Vitamin C Powder4-1/2 tsp Water-Based Liquid/Hyaluronic Acid Gel Base
Directions: Add Vitamin C Powder to liquid, cover container, and shake vigorously until powder is dissolved.
Because the L-Ascorbic Acid form of Vitamin C is water-soluble, it will only dissolve in water-based ingredients. If your formulation contains oil-based ingredients, the Vitamin C powder must be dissolved in water first (up to 20% concentration) before it is added to the oil phase. L-ascorbic acid powder will never “dissolve” in pure oil formulas.
Our 100% pure Vitamin C fine-grain size powder will dissolve in water-based liquids up to a 20% concentration. If you find your Vitamin C powder is not dissolving as expected, you are likely using too much powder for the amount of liquid in your formula. This is common if you have previously been using “extra fine” powders that are fluffier and measure differently. If you have any trouble dissolving your powder, please contact RESURRECTIONbeauty before discarding your creation and we can assist you in troubleshooting your recipe and procedure. In our experience, mixing issues only require a slight adjustment to your recipe or technique and you will be enjoying your homemade beauty product in no time.

Sweet!
For the price this can’t be beat. I make my own vitamin C serum on a weekly basis and this bad boy is going to last me forever!! It is not a fine powder!! I know others have said that they have issues with it not dissolving fully in water because of the larger crystal size and I’ve encountered this as well. I have a nutribullet with the milling blade. So… I milled this to a finer powder (not super super fine though) and still had some issue with it dissolving fully. If you use hot or warm water, this stuff dissolves instantly and won’t recrystallize. So just nuke your water for 30 seconds in the microwave. I think if I were to repurchase I wouldn’t bother with milling it and just use warm or hot water to dissolve the crystals.I am particular to L Ascorbic acid over other forms of vitamin C since I’ve seen the best results with post acne hyperpigmentation. I have used L-Ascorbic acid by simply mixing the powder into my sunscreen, lotion, body lotion, or just added it to water. If you have ever used Philosophy’s Turbo Booster C Powder it’s just 99.9% L-Ascorbic acid powder with a ginormous markup ($39/ 0.25 oz). Why waste your money? For making my weekly Vitamin C serum I like to use rosewater- don’t know if it actually helps with anything, but I love the smell.I use 2 teaspoons of vitamin C powder and 4 teaspoons of microwaved rose water then I test this with a pH strip!!. This makes an approximate 20% solution. The pH is usually around 2 pH. This is too acidic and you’ll likely wind up with irritated red/flaky skin. I adjust the pH to around 3-3.5 pH using baking soda. I add teeny tiny increments and test using pH strips till it gets to the 3-3.5 pH range. I haven’t had any skin irritation issues with this adjustment and the results are great. I find using a vitamin C serum prevents hyperpigmentation and minimizes my acne.Whenever the solution starts to tint yellow or orange it’s time to throw it away. It means it has oxidized and will cause adverse skin reactions if used- so don’t. What I make lasts me about a week with daily use.Definitely worth a purchase!

Works great in my serum
I add it to my distilled water and glycerin serum. Takes a little while to completely dissolve. It is clear, if it starts to color then it has oxidized and needs to be dumped and a fresh batch made. Don’t mix up more than you will use within 1-2 weeks. I’ve been using this serum morning and night for 5 months. My skin looks smoother and less pigmented. Make sure to keep it in the dark once mixed to slow the oxidation process. I use a dark glass bottle which I store in a drawer and have had it still good at 3 weeks when I finished it off. Haven’t used any other brand yet, but will update when I have. Still have a lot left in this container. I am up to a 15% serum solution now, but started at a 5% to get my skin adjusted. I have given myself a chemical burn with citric acid not properly diluted and it is possible to do the same with this. Do your research and know your skin.If you are having trouble getting it to dissolve, then you are doing something wrong. The higher the solution strength, the longer it will take to dissolve. I didn’t check to see how long mine took because I wasn’t going to be using it until the next day. Was completely dissolved by morning. I mix directly in my 2 oz. spray bottle and shake well. I use a small funnel and L-ascorbic acid first, then distilled water. I shake these first before adding my glycerin. I always shake mine before using. Don’t know if it’s necessary, force of habit with any liquids.

Hubby tell me every day my skin looks new â¤ï¸
I use this L Ascorbic Acid to make a serum withHyaluronic Acid. L Ascorbic Acid is the only vitamin C that works to improve skin. The l ascorbic acid builds elastin and collagen. This has made my skin so much better smooth, clear, vibrant , firmer. Once a week I use 1/4 teaspoon of the granular powder for a facial scrub, works great. Resurrection Beauty is a bargain. Recipe 1 and a 1/2 tablespoon Ascorbic Acid mixed with 8 tablespoon distilled water mix let set when incorporated add a 1/2teaspoon glycerin, 1 teaspoon hyaluronic acid mix refrigerate, mixing to incorporate hyaluronic acid. Can take 1-2 day for the hyaluronic to fully gel. The vitamin c serum, tretinoin (Retin A) is all you need to keep your skin beautiful. Iâm 73 have been using Retin A for 30 years and diy vitamin c serum for 1 1/2 years vitamin c is a game changer. Skin looks fresh and new.Itâs a great value and it works.

Needs to be liquefied before blending, but a quality product.
Overall good product. High quality, excellent value. The only reason I can’t give it the full five stars is because it’s not as finely ground as I would have liked for skin absorption. This powder needs to be dissolved before adding it to a facial product or it feels scratchy & grainy & won’t be absorbed into your skin. If you plan to liquefy before blending, it would work well for you. .

Excellent product if used correctly
Iâm a licensed esthetician & I see people blaming this product for burns because they donât know how to use it. Healthy skin pH is more on the acidic side. Studies have shown ideal pH level is just below 5.This product on its own is very acidic & if you donât mix it correct you will give yourself a chemical burn & peel.Purchase some pH test strips. Mix the powder with water & achieve a 4-5 acidity. (Warm, not hot, water can help with dissolving). Add more water until you achieve the 4-5 pH. Do NOT use baking soda as other reviews have mentioned. Baking soda is terrible for your skin.Lastly, keep the mixture in an amber glass bottle & remake the mixture every few days or when you see it turning yellow/orange aka oxidizing. At that point itâs no longer potent & loses its benefits. This is my favorite form of Vitamic C for my skin because vitamin c in most forms oxidizes very quickly. This is a very cheap & easy way to ensure you have quality vit c.

I am making my own vitamin C facial cream as this type of vitamin C is stable and very effective (I add to to existing cream). It is great! I will never go back to prepared cosmetic vitamin C cream. One note. You canât use it with retinol products at the same time as they cancel each other out. Vitamin C in the morning and retinol at night!
