Mine lasted 12 years
Well I got 12 years out of it and I’m definitely buying another one. I noticed that part getting thinner and more translucent years ago and it finally gave. I honestly thought the handle would melt through first from me resting it against the edge of the pan while I cooked on medium low heat, but it never got worse than that little mark.

This thing is HUGE!
I wasn’t expecting it to be that big but it is the size of your hand or bigger. Great tool for griddle work.

Best wide spatula I have ever owned!
I use the spatula for pancakes, sheet pan dinners, etc. I love that it is silicone and stainless steel. I have also given this spatula as a hostess gift.

Best spatula ever used though not very durable
Just received my third spatula in three years. I wonât not have this large incredible spatula in the kitchen as it works so perfectly for flipping large servings, huge pancakes, a pan filled with eggs or veggies. The only bummer is that the aluminum handle only attaches to the silicone flipper a 1/2 inch at best and thereâs not much silicone on the top and bottom of the spatula for structural support. So, in time the metal handle will pop through the silicone underneath as ya compress the spatula into the pan if youâre trying to increase searing of veggies or in our case wild mushrooms weâve collected and are trying to char. Though the performance of this large spatula is worth the expense of replacement each year so weâve accepted the reality that weâll go through one a year. Wish the company would increase the length of the handle into the silicone spatula by another 1/2â inch for structural integrity though understand why they wouldnât do this because they offer an incredible product that I and everyone else will gladly replace yearly as needed. Can understand what the company is doing with their design and until I find a more lasting similarly performing product theyâve got me.

Why didnât I get this sooner
So for many years, I used a typical small pancake turner you find in most stores. Of course, flipping the pancakes has always been a challenge and gives my pancakes interesting shapes.I saw this and figured why not. It is definitely wider than most other flippers I have found. The handle is more robust than others as well.I tried it out with my monster size pancakes ( about 5 inches wide at a minimum). It handled it very well and nicely. It kept the shape of the pancake. The edges are of a high temperature silicone. I use it on a griddle at 400 degrees and it has shown no warping or other damage so far.I highly recommend having this in your kitchen toolbox.

I just fell back in love with making pancakes
I just made pancakes on the griddle last night and the ranged in size from about 2 inches to over 6 inches in diameter. With this turner, I can easily flip any size pancake I wish to make. As the other reviews said this turner is big or at least I should say that it is wide. When I cook over light eggs, I cook 4 at a time in a twelve inch skillet and use a turner similar to this one in shape but not quite as wide. (I will try to post some pictures later of the two turners and a ruler). I did try to use this turner in the same way and it was possible to flip the eggs but first you had to slide the other eggs a lot more out of the way just to be able to get this turner under the one you were going to flip. If I had only been doing 2 overlight eggs in a 12 inch skillet it would have been fine but if I’m only doing two I use a smaller skillet. This is a great pancake turner if you are making pancakes on a griddle but if you’re looking for a turner to flip eggs in a skillet you should look for one that isn’t as wide. I have not tried this for flipping eggs on the griddle but as long as your griddle is big enough that you have a lot of room between the eggs it would probably be ok. I just prefer the skillet and stovetop for overlight eggs because it’s easier than getting out the griddle. Plus, as a previous “appliances are us” lady, some of you know what I mean, I’m trying to convert as much as possible to the usually simplier route of using the stove and cookware.I’m still on a quest for another turner to flip eggs so I have one at the ready when the other one is in the dishwasher. I was hoping this would work for pancakes and eggs but it didn’t for me. Since it is described as a pancake turner, I gave it 5 stars because for that it is great.

Nice size turner, easy to use!
I ordered this to flip my huge sized pancakes, and it definitely fits the bill for that. I was not a fan of silicone turners because they were always too flimsy for me. But this is metal covered in silicone, giving it more strength. And after many uses, so far there are no issues with any melting. I also like the “normal” size handle. I was never a fan of OXO’s overly-large handles (nothing ever seems to fit in my drawers because of those huge handles!!). But this one is not overly-large. The description does have an error, however. It states the size as 11 x 5. The actual size is 12″ in length (total), and the flat turner part is 6″ long x 5″ wide.UPDATE: 2/20/16 — I noticed a problem with this turner. Every time I take it out of the drawer (no matter which drawer I put it in), there seems to be a white powdery reside on it. We switched detergents, but the problem still exists. And only on this black silicone turner. Not sure if something is leaching out of it after being washed. But it happens to all 3 of them that we have. We are truly stumped. ??? But it is a pain to have to wash it off every time we take it out to use it. We are sure it is nothing we are doing to cause this. So it must be something in the material from which it is made. I am subtracting stars for this reason. I still love the size of this turner, but if another company made one this size I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Não é barato, mas é extremamente bem construÃdo e robusto. Ãtimo para não destruir panquecas, omeletes, tapiocas ou crepes em geral.
Looking for more –
Read the reviews so I am careful not to stress the flipper when I am using it. Seems to work fine and the width is a big advantage over narrower flippers.
