So good I bought another one
These are super inexpensive and work extremely well. I bought one set for a fridge/freezer which seemed to be dying. I wanted a baseline before I attempted to fix it. Once I received these they worked so well I bought a second set to have in my other fridge/freezer to know how it was doing over time.Simple and small and out of the way with a great big display to show temp and the min/max.

Good to have, easy to read
When my old fridge died, I did not notice right away. Looking back, it was not keeping food cold enough for a few days before the temperature got high enough that we could tell. No one got food poisoning fortunately, but it was a good lesson on how easy it is to not realize when the fridge is at an unsafe temperature, so I got this and put it in my new fridge. It’s mostly just for reassurance, but it also showed me that the recommended dial setting on my fridge was actually warmer than food safety sources recommend. I’m glad I have it. It’s easy to read and in addition to the current temperature, it also shows the warmest temperature since you last reset it, so you can tell how warm it got if the fridge was unplugged or the door was open for a while.

Refrigerator/freezer thermometer
Nice, easy to read thermometer. It can be hung from the rungs of the older style refrigerator racks or, with the hanger in the down position, placed on the shelf in the newer refrigerators with glass or plastic shelves. The battery is replaceable, and the thermometer came with a little screwdriver to unscrew the battery compartment when replacement is needed (a CR2032 button battery). The thermometer can be turned off with the push of a button until needed, or left on all the time. I tried turning it on and off only when needed, but decided that was a bit of a nuisance as the temperature in the refrigerator goes up when the door is open longer, so I have left it turned on for the past couple of months. That way I can see the temperature immediately on opening the refrigerator door. I think the battery, like a watch battery, will probably last for quite a while. It also shows the maximum and minimum temperature since it was last reset – handy if you are concerned about how well the refrigerator holds the temperature.

Proved I was right
I suspected my ten-year-old refrigerator was failing. Stuff in the freezer felt partially thawed, stuff in the refrigerator section didn’t seem very cold, ice maker wasn’t working right. This two pack was just what I needed — put one in the refrigerator, one in the freezer, and got readings of 50 degrees and 27 degrees (in a properly-working refrigerator, those numbers should be 40 and ZERO). Ended up replacing the refrigerator, but then put these little guys in the new one to make sure it was working properly. They’ll stay there, just to remind me to keep an eye on things. I’m confident they are accurate — left outside on the counter, they agree perfectly with what my thermostat says for room temperature.
It was perfect it fit great. In car perfect for rain and all the mud .. especially since I have my little dog goes I. All his adventures. The material is thick. Definetely will buy again –
Just like describe
Easy to set up works great.

“Easy to read and seems to be accurate”…
I was considering getting an old skool one as a backup for a double-check on accuracy, but this one has been doing the job in giving us numbers that seem to make sense based on how often we open the fridge door and for how long we keep the door open (as briefly as possible). Our fridge tech recommended we get one after a costly repair for a failed control board. He said to open your fridge door for as little duration and as few times as you can to preserve the cold environment and more benefits. For example, pull everything you want for breakfast and counter it versus constantly pulling items and putting them back. So far it has been working. This thermometer was ranked #2 on Amazon as I recall for affordable thermometers. It is very easy to read and has a large font size yet small footprint so it does not take up much space. It came with a mini screwdriver as well.So far it is “all good in the neighborhood” for our needs.

Nice gadget but batteries come loose easily; 4 of 6 arrived âdeadâ on arrival
They werenât exactly âdeadâ ⦠just not functioning. Thatâs because the battery had come loose before it got to me. Maybe just bad design and/or flimsy materials. It was a pain to remove the 4 very tiny screws to get in each one and fix it. But at least they included a suitable very tiny screwdriver to help me get in there.Temperature seems accurate (compared to more expensive one so already had that also keeps mom/max record).I use these to make sure my insulin doesnât get too hot or cold â in fridge and elsewhere. Have to keep it between 36 F and 46 F in fridge. After I take it out, it canât go above 85 F (max âroom temperatureâ) whether at home or headed out to dinner or traveling. Such delicate, high-maintenance stuff. Itâs a pain.If not for that dislodged battery annoyance, Iâd have given these a 4 or 5 rating.I guess these were so cheap because they opted send out âas isâ with screwdrivers for DIY fixes rather than doing quality control and fixes themselves before shipping out. And they might have just fallen back out as they bounced along in the Amazon delivery truck.
