I’ve been culling through old plastic containers and I’ve had my eye on this set for a while. I am very happy with this purchase! The various sizes really fit my and my family’s needs. I love that everything stacks so well together (space saving!!) and that a couple different sized containers use the same size top. I’ve run them through the dishwasher (top rack) and they come out great. I have stored all kinds of saucy foods and none have leaked or stained.They’re so air-tight that I think food lasts a little longer…

Original Design
I ordered the pack of 5. These are the original design of this style which you will not find in the stores. It is a clear plastic which works well in the microwave but cracks in the freezer. The one currently in the stores is a semi-transparent plastic, sort of a hazy white. It does not crack in the freezer but will melt in a ring around the top of your food, especially sweet surgery ones. It does not melt all the way threw but leaves a rough ring you cannot clean. You cannot get everything. You need to choose between the microwave and the freezer. I prefer the microwave for these and use cheaper ones for the freezer.These are also the original style lids. They have plastic windows in the top made with the same hazy white plastic as the current one’s body in the stores. Sugars can splash on it and melt into the surface. It does not happen that often. The original ones are mostly a molded rubber that seals very well and is easy to handle. The original ones nested inside the container. At one time they made lids with the same materials that did not cost you volume of the container. They worked OK but did not seal as well.The current lids in the stores have a stiffer plastic top that is probably molded from sheet. They can be hard to get on and sometimes leak. Somewhere along the line I got this style lid with a little popup that vents the lid. The last ones I got did not have the popup vent. I really like the popup vent but still prefer the original lids.

Clear, Sturdy, Stackable
Love these containers. It’s great that they are clear so I can see what’s in them. They are stackable so they save space. They are hard plastic so the microwave doesn’t stain them like softer plastics and they are sturdy. Dishwasher friendly, and they seal great. I wish they were a little easier to find.

Best Rubbermaid Set
This is the best set of rubbermaid storage containers I’ve ever owned. They are visually stunning. I love how stackable the lids are. They hold up well in the microwave – I even stored and reheated leftover taco meat without a stain or leftover flavor/scent in sight.These are quite expensive so I’ll take care of them with my life but definitely a great buy. I’ve only been using them for a week so can’t attest to their long-term durability but they have been dropped, run through the dishwasher and microwave and still look amazing.

Great containers with too-short lives
As an owner of several sets of these, and other sizes of the Rubbermaid Premier food storage containers, and with a long history of use dating back over many years, I can give them uniformly high marks for all points but durability. With a wide array of possible uses, your experience may vary, but mine includes heating food in the microwave frequently, which ultimately spells doom for them, even though they are rated as safe for microwave re-heating. They are wonderful for storage across the range of usual places, including freezer and refrigerator, but after multiple exposures to microwave heating, small cracks will form, and ultimately enlarge to become threats to containment of any liquids. The current version of lids, which duplicate the original version, seal well, preserving foods from excess oxygen and reducing spoilage. There was an intermediate version of lids that would pop off while re-heating food, but it appears they were widely disliked, and my recent purchases have all been with the original lid style to my considerable satisfaction. The clear plastic design makes these easy to use for visually identifiable storage, but be careful in cleaning because these containers with scuff and scratch, becoming less clear with age. Contrary to claims, they will also accept color from a limited number of foods, principally red ones, so some staining is possible. Their reasonable footprint and storage capacity, stack-ability, and limited shelf space when unused are all assets that make these great containers. It is only sad that I know I will have to replace them again once the cracks take over.

These are GREAT!
I gave these to my wife for Christmas. They are a fantastic product. Super thick plastic that does not stain–had red rice in it that had even been microwaved–came crystal clear clean. They come with a great selection of sizes, too. I threw out all our old “Tupperware,” and we are only using these now. She may buy another set to have even more. A++++

Glad they are back
I have not been able to find these in the stores, they have clear ones with different lids and the regular ones but not these. I love these storage container because they donât stain when you store pasta sauce and they donât feel greasy.

I’ve been working in the kitchen for over 50 yrs. & have never had such useful storage containers in my life. The lids seal tight, don’t leak & are easy to close & open. They DON’T stain whatsover or hold odors. Are very sturdy & stack nicely. The various sizes are helpful. Great price for what these containers do for you.
