Accurate and Super Simple to Use – Consumer Reports Recommended
I selected this TP-19H model from ThermoPro thermometer because it came highly recommended by Consumer Reports recent magazine issue. I also like that this is one of the least expensive in the ThermoPro thermometer line of products. At first, I looked for an on/off button, but instead this thermometer is so intuitive – when you pull the probe away from the body of the thermometer, that turns it on. When you push the probe back in, that turns it off. Easy Peasy. It is built ruggedized and much sturdier than any past food thermometer I’ve owned. We are doing a lot of remodeling around our home right now, and this seems same quality as any of our professional power tools! This would also be a great thermometer for grilling, not just because it can take the wear and tear of the backyard grill area on cement, but also because it includes a magnet for hanging it on any metal surface. Additionally, there is a rubber bumper on the other side of the back, so when/if you do use the magnet, then it doesn’t scuff the surface of where you are attaching it magnetically. I will be storing my thermometer in our utensil drawer by the stove, and it will take the wear and tear there like nothing going on! Finally, it has all the other nice buttons of F/C conversion switching so likely this product ships international and even an option for backlighting the display so if cooking when romantically lit kitchen or outdoors at night, it is still easy to read. The display is large. It takes a normal battery, and just one battery! It includes the first battery. The battery compartment does close with a screw, but they even include a tiny screwdriver. I got so much more than I expected, quality, sturdy, WOW – THANK YOU (and Thank You Consumer Reports)! I love this!!! Really Cool and Useful Temp Probe! Screen Auto-Rotates!
I like this temp probe a lot, it has a lot of unique features different from other ones I’ve used in the past. It’s large enough that it feels like a quality piece, and the probe itself snaps in nice and securely to the body of the probe so you don’t have to be worried about it coming free on its own. Several nifty additional features, like auto start when you pull the probe out, AAA instead of button battery, magnets on the back to stick it to the fridge or grill, rubber pads on the back so it doesn’t move around, backlight reading, AND it even auto-rotates the temp reading based on the position of the probe so you don’t have to try and read it upside down when you are using it. Plus, most importantly, it reads quickly and accurately. Absolutely love it, would definitely recommend!

So much better than others I have tried. Durable, quick and accurate, nice design features.
Have used cheaper ones and it is just not worth it compared to this. Extremely durable, accurate, can actually change rhe battery when it (long in the futue) dies (it goes to sleep after a short deal but wakes right up again, and also sleeps/wakes when you fold in or fold out the needle/probe part. Temp guide on the back, auto senses and flips the display so it’s always right side up, magnet on the back to stick securely to a fridge or grill. Quick and pretty sensitive readings.
