Thick & pliable tape is great for winter insulation!
I would definitely recommend this tape for insulating doors and windows before a cold/arctic blast. The tape is relatively thick but still seems to be moldable for the cracks and crevices. So far, it seems to hold up well, too. We are currently dealing with 3-7 degree temps for lows, which is unusual for our area. I used this to tape off the cracks in the attic door and tape certain parts of some older metal windows. It stuck well on both wood and cold metal. Some of the areas were a little dusty, too, but it is still holding. It worked so well that I did not even put up the plastic insulation on the windows. We have managed to keep the house at a reasonable temperature without having to run the heat much. The tape made a huge difference in stopping the cold draft from coming in through the attic door and old windows. I will be buying a few more rolls to keep on hand!

Works well sealing PVC window tears
Our vintage popup’s main window started to deteriorate. This left a few cut type splits in the tinted PVC windows. Knowing how bad tape works on something like a convertible top I was skeptical it would do the job, but pretty much out of options for replacement, I thought I’d give it a shot.I thoroughly cleaned the window with Windex and rubbing alcohol first, and installed this at room temperature. Once I got a piece on, I backed it up on the other side with an identical piece. The stuff sticks really well, and even better to itself in the cracks that had formed from the window shrinking. While it doesn’t look perfect, it does look better, and does what it needed to even better than it looks. I may try it on an old Fiat spider we have that suffered a split in the bottom of the PVC window it has just to see how that works, but for the pop-up I’d totally recommend. I’ll update this if anything changes, or if it does something crazy being stowed.

Easy apply, with the help of someone else holding the tape UPDATED
I just used this tape to apply weatherproofing to an apartment air conditioner. Easy to apply. Have yet to find out how well it works since we are still in fall weather. Nor have we tried to remove the tape.Mid-Winter update: I applied it in about 50-60 degree temps and no problem except very sticky. Not easy to work with but well worth the work. Sticks to the window frame like a charm and extremely effective in keeping out the cold. After years of trying to get rid to cold weather drafts around our A/C, no drafts this year.

    Amazing!
Worked perfectly! I needed it to “seal” the panels of a portable AC unit into my window and it was perfect! the tape has great adhesion and really sticks where you put it. It seems to totally seal the areas where I placed it, which is exactly what I wanted it to do! Lets see if it holds up to the east coast summer weather! Will update review after Summer.

    Ok
It’s okay, but not the strong or long lasting against weather. I did a comparison test between this tape and duct tape. Left them the same size piece of each on the same surface for the same amount of time under the same weather conditions. We had hot, sunny days up to 85 (Spring), cold nights that got down in the 30s, and bad thunderstorms with strong winds for 2 days (lightening knocked power out). So, it was a fair test. But, duct tape won for sure! I forgot to take photos of the before and after. But, this tape didn’t hold up by itself, so I don’t see it holding something else together. The edges and corners were lifting up and it very very easy to peel off, whereas duct tape was still stuck down and was almost difficult to peel bc of the tight grip. I used off brand duct tape.

This is great at keep cold out. I have a 100 yr old home. When it was 20 below, I used the tape to seal up any areas throughout my house that were susceptible to drafts. It held up really well. I recommend this tape.

1 roll covers about 5 windows
Used in 6 windows that were approximately 40 inch wide x 60 inch length . I wasn’t able to fully finish the 6th window and so I will comfortably suggest to plan on 4-5 windows per roll.My windows have two light frames. One frame at the top that doesn’t move and is pretty secure with almost no draft in the edges and the bottom frame that slides up to open the windows. The draft in my house comes from the bottom frame. My house is not that old, they just didn’t insulate it beyond the bare minimal requirements in my city zone , so there has always been a draft in my house. I used to appreciate this because my house would stay fairly cool and living in the South it doesn’t get too cold here often, but in the past few years it seems we have more cold days.I did not do all the windows or that would add up pretty quickly but I noticed for every window I insulated in a large open space of my house, the temperature increased about 2 degrees. This was consistent upstairs and downstairs.I heated up my house to 75 F last night. The temperature outside then was about 60 F . Over night it dropped to 38F . I left my heater on 60F. My heater didn’t have to run at all. I woke up to 68 F upstairs and 66 F downstairs (downstairs I only insulted two out 7 windows and my upstairs is open to the downstairs area. Normally my heater would kick back on to maintain at least 60F in my house which is still a bit too cool for comfort and if I didn’t have on the heater it would drop to 50sF inside my house.I think 68 is comfortable for sleeping so I am satisfied with this product and ordered one more roll. I did also put some insulation in the main seal between the two frames in conjunction with the tape so this likely helped too but I didn’t apply insulation around the sides of the window frame.I did have a few areas slightly peel away from the window frame but this was mainly in the very drafty corners. I had a hard time applying tape there so I think it was mostly due to improper technique and maybe my windows weren’t clean enough. I cleaned them prior but I don’t think I gave the chemicals time to dry before applying the tape as I was rushing to finish.4 stars is only because I had minor pull up in some areas and I’m unsure if that’s my error or the tape not being strong enough to withstand large drafts.I read reviews complaining about the tape leaving adhesive or pulling apart their drywall. Window cleaner will get adhesive up very easily . Also a light touch if hear with a hair blow dryer.

Was not too sure what to expect but is essentially like a wide cellotape. Not as transparent as I’d like but better than having a cold living room due to some very small gaps in our bay window seals.Applied around the edges and could feel the difference immediately. Will take off during the summer and seems to be enough to reapply again towards the end of the year.
