Customers say
Customers like how easy it is to use the PH meter. They say it is as easy as pushing a button. However, some customers have reported issues with accuracy and readability. They mention that it is impossible to calibrate for two and three point, the accuracy varies considerably, and that the meter needs to be calibrated often. They also have issues with the turn on. Customers disagree on performance, quality, and value.

Inexpensive, but good PH meter.
This is the second of these PH meters I’ve purchased. There are a number of negative reviews, so I was a little concerned but went ahead and order one. The first meter calibrated easily and (apparently) accurately. I used the three point calibration, then tested my fish tanks and compared the reading to the drop type ph test kit I had been using. It was spot on as close as I could tell with the test kit. I used the meter for a week, every day on several tanks as I changed the ph. It tracked these changes as I would have expected it to.It worked very well for me so I ordered a second PH meter. (I have fish tanks in two locations.) I then used these two meters side by side. They vary from each other by 0.10 points. The second meter did not calibrate as easily as the first, and the calibration was off slightly. I will try recalibrating, but it’s as accurate as I need now. I’m very satisficed with them and would recommend.

Best meter out there!
I never thought I’d become an amateur chemist in my own kitchen, but here I am, wielding the VIVOSUN Digital pH Meter like a modern-day Merlin. This little gadget has been a revelation! It’s so easy to use and calibrate, even a goldfish could probably do it (though I wouldnât recommend letting them; theyâre notoriously bad at following instructions). Now, I must confess, this is my second round with this magical device. Not because the first one failed meâno, quite the contrary. It’s just that I found changing the batteries to be akin to defusing a bomb with tweezers and a blindfold. So, in the spirit of “treat yo’ self,” I decided to just buy a new one instead. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny. Why do I love it, you ask? Well, itâs as easy to use as pushing a button, and calibrating it is a breezeâjust make sure you follow the instructions. I learned that the hard way when I skipped a step and momentarily believed my tap water could be a secret chemical weapon, reading off the charts like hydrochloric acid. After a brief moment of existential dread and contemplating a call to the authorities, I realized my folly and recalibrated. Crisis averted.P.S. Donât forget to get some PH down⦠youâre gonna need it if youâre reading this!

Work fairly ok after calibrating
Ok so at first i was very upset with the ph meter because it was all twacked out. I attempted to calibrate it the first time and made it worse. After doing a calibration on it a second time, now, i can say it work ok. It’s still not highly accurate but close enough for my plants and anything else i might want to use it for. That being said, if you do buy this product, be prepared to do some calibrating, probably somewhat often. It states when ph meter electrode its in dry air for long periods of time it will need calibrating, frequent use of will need calibrating, the CAL button was pressed and the electrode was exposed to air for a while, it will need calibrating. So yea, it works, but will need calibrating.

Waste of money, results are wildly different measuring same water twice in a row!
I have a scientific grade PH probe that has been in continual use on a 65 gallon discus tank for 6 months and it was time to recalibrate as part of routine maintenance. After 6 months of use, probe had barely drifted. I used PH 4.0 and PH 7.0 calibration fluids. Probe was spot on with the 4.0 and read 7.1 with the 7.0 so it only needed a very minor adjustment to bring it back into perfect calibration. I used this probe as a comparison with the VIVOSUN. The VIVOSUN readings straight out of the box were pretty far off. Measuring the PH 7.0 solution, the VIVOSUN reported 7.6. Measuring the PH 4.0 solution, VIVOSUN reported 3.65. I calibrated the VIVOSUN using the provided powder for all 3 PH solutions provided as this should provide the most accurate readings per the instructions. Immediately after calibration, I poured fresh 4.0 and 7.0 solutions and the VIVOSUN results were at least .5 off in both directions. Poured fresh solution AGAIN (after rinsing probe in RO water) and once again results were way off (but different from the results it just reported from the first fresh solution pour. I then compared with test strips and the test strips matched the results from my scientific probe. In short, do not rely on the pH meter and I would go so far as to say you need to throw it in the trash ASAP. The TDS meter is also flawed. There are 4 modes of display, according to the instructions whichever mode you choose will remain the default until you change it.. (e.g. Power it off today and tomorrow when you power it on, it should default to the mode it was in when it was powered off.). It does not do this. Not only that but in the middle of taking a reading, it will just randomly switch from measuring PPM to EC or from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I don’t have anyway to validate the EC or PPM readings but judging by what I can validate, I would not trust it in any way, shape or form.

Perfect for classroom projects
I needed some new testers and thought I would try these. Well I am super excited to say these are exactly what I was looking for. Compact in size and accurate as well. I calibrated and tested with higher end reader to check. The reading matched so well, I don’t think I will need to use the old one (except to verify calibration) as much as I use to.So if you need something small and reads well. This is your device. Put in your pocket and test the world when you feel the need.

As with any digital ph devices that claims it can be calibrated have test strips. This is a good device and great value. It has a shorter life span compared to more expensive models but the lifespan is very reasonable when compared to the savings. But all these devices fail. Have test strips and a small test kit. Test your device occasionally. Save the plants!

Esperaba fuera algo sumamente sencillo de usar, y necesita ciertos insumos que los trae incluidos pero al terminarse no se donde los podré conseguir. No supe como usarlo.

Product does not work out of box. Just reads 0.00. So I calibrated, well tried to. Still no reading. Just random numbers then zeros out. Vivosun products are usually pretty good but this is crap.UPDATE: Tried soaking the electrode in ISO alcohol for a few hours, rinsed, tested on test bottles…and it works perfect. Did a recalibration with no problems at all. Held readings and is pretty accurate (+- .01).

Is not accurate, sometimes it takes a while to turn on

Simple to use but it spoilt after we use it in the lab with the kids.
