You can’t go wrong with All-Clad
This All-Clad skillet is the perfect size for most tasks. It’s also extremely well made, oven safe, and cleans up beautifully.Let me preface this review by saying that for a couple of years I worked at a cooking school and all of the pots and pans they used were All-Clads. Those All-Clads went through a lot of use and abuse and held up to everything we threw at them. After that experience I invested in a 10 piece set of the D5 All-Clads for my house, supplementing them with a couple of pieces of regular All-Clad. My home experience has been every bit as good as the one in the test kitchen. This All-Clad skillet is exceptionally well made. The steel used is thick, even, and high quality. The polished exterior is beautiful, while the machined interior is also well done. The long and substantial handle is securely connected to the skillet by two rivets. The matching lid fits nicely to create an excellent seal. Overall, the skillet feels like it will last a lifetime. In use the All-Clad performs well. I have a Viking gas cook top with heavy cast iron grates. The All-Clad heats up quickly and I don’t have any issues with hot or cold spots. The sloped sides make it easy to toss food one handed (if you dare!) and allow liquids to evaporate quickly. The all metal construction means you can pop it into an oven too. When I bought my 10 piece set it came with an 8 and 10 inch skillet and I found those sizes limiting for most uses. This 12 inch size is just about perfect for most needs. It allows plenty of room to sear a few pieces of meat and make family sized pasta or rice dishes. I find myself reaching for the 12 inch size more than the smaller skillets.I did not find much of a difference between the D5 All-Clads and the “regular” Tri-Ply series. They both cook and clean up equally good.I clean my All-Clads in my Bosch dishwasher and they come out perfectly clean about 95% of the time. The only thing I need to “clean” by hand is when I sear meats in the pan. For some reason the pans come out of the dishwasher with a “stain” of some sort where the meat was seared. The rest of the pan is usually spotless. To clean that I just use a bit of Bar Keeper’s Friend and it comes right off.All in all… an excellent skillet.

Clean freaks: read before buying
These pans are great, although sometimes I do wonder if they are worth the maintenance. I would probably give them 4.5 stars if I could.Pros:- They cook really well. They distribute heat very evenly and are great for browning meats and deglazing. They feel solid and are just nice to cook with. Definitely top of the line in this regard.- American-made, if that is important to you.Cons:- Expensive. Costco has a set that looks just like these for a fraction of the price. I have no doubt that these will perform better when cooking, but I am not sure by how much.- Hard to clean. If you are a clean freak like me and think you’ll just be able to wash these with soap and water and be done, you’re in for a rude awakening. You need to use Barkeeper’s Friend, which is a stainless steel cleaner that comes in a powder form. I hit them with that stuff at least every other time I wash them, otherwise you’ll get discolorations, water marks, and stains over time. You also can’t let them air dry, because, again, you will get ugly water marks.I do throw my pots/pans in the dishwasher regularly, and I think they have lost some of their shine, but I don’t really care. They still look great when I keep up with using the stainless steel cleaner. Some people have said they are not dishwasher safe. All-Clad says they are definitely dishwasher safe, but will lose their brilliance over time when washed in the dishwasher.- Lids are not heavy enough. They aren’t flimsy, but they are very light. You can’t cook rice in these pots without weighing down the lid, which is pretty dumb. I don’t know why you would ever want such a light lid.- The pans are pretty small. If you want to cook a meal for a bunch of people, you’re not going to be able to do it in these pans. It feels kind of crazy to spend $700 on this set, and then have to spend another $200 on a decent-sized frying pan. If you’re usually cooking for one or two people this won’t be an issue though.Overall: I am happy with them, but they’re not perfect. I’d probably recommend just buying a set at Costco unless you make a lot of money or just really want to make the investment.

Amazing upgrade if youâre used to cheap basic cookware
I love this set! This is my first dip into expensive cookware. I have been cooking up a storm in these pans! If youâve been looking around for reviews on this set, you probably have been seeing people saying âdonât buy a set, but prices individuallyâ because certain pans wonât get used. Well, I have been using every single piece of my set. It was an amazing deal! Itâs nice to have the consistency of heat and performance with the pans.Once you get a handle on the learning curve when switching to stainless, you get optimal browning and heat. They all clean up easy too! I might have to let a pan sit with warm water and soap, but they always end up wiping clean no matter how burnt on some stuff might get! Itâs amazing to be able to clean the pan by making a sauce with the fond while cooking.I canât recommend the pans enough, they have upped my cooking game significantly. Theyâre beautiful, sturdy, and high quality cookware that I will probably outlive me as long as itâs taken care of. You get what you pay for!

Quality you can feel. Wow this 10 piece D3 set is stunning to look at and phenomenal to cook with, Its true about the fond you get after searing/frying you attain to make fantastic gravy’s. We splurged after buying a new induction range so we could see what all the fuss was about, and my wife and I are very happy with both the precise control of temperature you get with these D3 pans/pots and the heft and thickness. along with the incredibly quick heat up time of the new Induction range, both as a combo are a dream. Clean up is easy, but the first few times I was worried as the fond and bottoms accumulate alot of discolouration after cooking, but it all comes off very easily under hot water and dish soap with a sponge. We would highly recommend this set.

I bought the 10 inch first and was so impressed I bought the 12 inch as well. They heat evenly. Food has not stuck in the pot, just make sure the pot is hot before putting in anything. It’s easy to get food stuff out of these pots because of their internal design. They are also easy to clean. One operative in the house missed not having two handles on the 12 ” pot, but I have not missed that facility at all.

Riesen Empfehlung!

I’m reviewing this product and I have not been paid to do so. I bought this in July and been using it since. I find it healthy to use a fully stainless steel pan and this steel clad is good. Heat transfer: excellentSize: the right oneVersatility: Yes. You can cook anything. I even cooked steamed rice with other ingredients like grape tomatoes and chicken and it looked like fried rice.Taste of food: No effect on the taste. It’s not the fault of steel clad if you’re a bad cook.Appearance: Very presentable, neat and shiny.Weight: Heavy but that’s ok because it’s pure stainless steelPrice: Good cost for years and years to come
