    Very good quality
I use this for baking sourdough bread. It’s not thin or cheaply made. Very good quality and it can be used upside-down when baking bread. Works great in the oven or on the grill.

    It’s a W!
Bought for 2 reasons. To make artisan bread at home, and for some summertime camp cuisine. I regret nothing. Excellent cast iron for the price, especially for someone that’s just getting used to cooking with cast iron.

Great and versatile budget Dutch oven, but not perfect
I have a number of Dutch ovens. Call me on the hunt for the Goldilocks oven (it doesn’t exist). I have a footed cast iron one with an ash trapping lid that has support legs for conversion into a skillet over coals while camping. I have a 4 qt. ceramic coated iron one, a 5.5, a 7.5 and so on for home cooking. But I travel a bit and we like our Dutch ovens! I wanted one suited for up to four people, that would allow both indoor and outdoor cooking and that was uncoated cast iron. This fit the bill perfectly in that regard. A great “cabin box” oven! This one is great, but be advised the texture is pretty rough. It will REQUIRE multiple coats of seasoning to get the finish you want out of cast iron. So here are the pros and cons:The good:- Not too thick; not too thin. Strikes a good balance between heat retention and weight. I’ve cooked in mine a few times and I am very pleased with the results. It’s not “lightweight” but the pot itself is lighter than some other name brands and that’s good (a bit on the lid later).- Has really taken seasoning well. Because of how pebbled the texture is, I was concerned that getting it seasoned would be difficult. It was easier than expected. That said, I built up about four layers very slowly, keeping each one very, very thin and taking care to ensure there was no oil overspill. I used corn oil for mine, but I added a layer of one of those beeswax specialty cast iron stick coatings in as well.- Comes with nice goodies. The pot holders and trivet that accompany it are, dare I say, USEFUL. I have some silicone pinch holders that require being doubled for handling hot pots. The nice buffer provided by the honeycomb pattern works great. Love that. The bad:- That surface is ROUGH. I’ve read that Lodge uses sand in its cooling process, explaining the rough texture. This texture is rougher than that. I expect it to wear down over time, but those processes take years.- I didn’t read about it and I don’t plan to, but I found a “how to season” instruction card in the box (nice if you haven’t done it before, but I do recommend watching some online videos). Also, I recommend corn oil for the value/performance ratio. Everybody has their own preference, but at 350-375, corn oil works for me and you can’t beat the price. Sure, you can use grapeseed oil, avocado oil and others, but I find that to be unnecessary. Anyway, this oven requires seasoning. Even though it says preseasoned, ignore it. It needs several coats. The verdict: This is a nice oven that strikes a good balance of cost and performance. I plan to use it with a metal stand over coals (and with coals on top) for outdoor cooking, and I’ll wipe away the ash and soot and use it indoors when I travel to cabins and cottages. I think it’s a great budget buy: not perfect, but still very good for the value it provides at such an affordable price.

    This is a masterpiece
I have purchased the Uno Casa 2in1 Dutch Oven. I have to say it is an incredible product. Not only is it a 5 quart cast iron camp stove, but it also has a frying pan lid so you can easily convert it into a large frying pan. The Dutch oven is pre-seasoned which helps it maintain its nonstick surface so you can enjoy food with half the mess. The enamel coating is also great as it allows for easy cleaning and greater durability of the product. I have used it for baking bread and it was a breeze. The heat distribution is on point and I had no problems with burning or uneven cooking. I also appreciate that the Dutch oven comes with a lid rest so you can store your lid without getting it dirty. The elegant black design is a great touch and it looks beautiful on my stove top. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality heavy-duty cast iron Dutch oven.

    Works well
I’ve only used it for baking bread to date and it works very well for that. We plan to use it when camping as well. I’m glad I purchased it.

Even with the black interior this Dutch oven performs well. I have used it to make bread and for pot roast. This pot heats up well and holds the heat. The handles are easy to grip with the holders that come with it or oven mitts. The outside finish (red) has no chips or flaws and the lid sits securely in its place. I would recommend this Dutch oven to those that don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on the “superior” quality but instead want a good performer which this one is.

I bought this for my anniversary – hubby loved it! I choose this over other frying pans and made a sheppards pie with the whole set – cooks/bakes great. Cleans up easy – I do a quick dry and season on stovetop with a little oil – let it cool and away till the next use!
